"A Dell spokesman said Monday that the Sony batteries were placed in notebooks that were shipped between April 1, 2004, and July 18 of this year, totalling 4.1 million"
"In rare cases, a short-circuit could cause the battery to overheat, causing a risk of smoke and/or fire," said the spokesman, Ira Williams. "It happens in rare cases, but we opted to take this broad action immediately"
Has anyone actually had a problem with this specific batteries? Is it ok to still use it while waiting for a replacment?

It seems that Dell was trying their best to take the steps necessary to replace their batteries. That have even gave out such warning which is to avoid customers having their laptop blow up I guess. So you should have stop using your laptop for that moment and wait until the replacement battery arrived. That could save you from a whole lots of problems you know. Just to be safe.
