I have been wearing eye glasses since I was 19. I took the driving test then at the age of 19. I failed the first time because I couldn't read the road signs correctly. I was advised to have an eye test and get the right eye glasses. I passed the test after I got them. Do you wear eye glasses ? At what age did you start wearing them ?

When I was 20, and in my second year of college. A friend of mine, new I had trouble seeing in class and one day told me to put his glasses on and see if it helped; well not only did it help but I didn't want to give them back. After class he told me I should go get my eyes examined because I needed to get glasses. I told him I knew, but was having a hard time telling my family I needed glasses and hadn't worked up what it took to do it yet and also wasn't ready to put up with the posible teasing that would come with wearing glasses. He told me that it wasn't that bad and I was putting to much thought into it and wearing glasses just was not a big deal. The next day we had another class together he reached into his backpack and pulled out a pair of his old glasses and said " put these on and see if you can see better." They were his old pair of glasses and for me they were better than his glasses I had already tried on. He then told me, " you can keep them, try wearing them for awhile and see if it helps you make up your mind to get your own. I started wearing them that day at school and could not believe the difference they made, I no longer had any problem seeing the board and everything was so much sharper and to top it off, people I knew actually complimented me on my new look. I still had a hard time coming out and telling my parents, thinking they would think less of me if I wore glasses and ended up wearing Tim's glasses for almost two years, but only at school and in that two years I found out that my friend was right, I was putting way to much thought into it and pretty much all my fears of wearing glasses were unfounded and it helped me make up my mind to finally tell my family and go in and get my eyes examined, get my own glasses and start wearing them full time. When I finally got my own glasses I took "my old glasses" back to Tim, thanked him for helping me finally get over the fear of wearing glasses and told him he was right, wearing glasses was not really a big deal. One thing his generosity did for me was to get me to donate my old glasses to the Lions whenever I get new one's to sort of play it forward in my own way. It's been over 30 years since he helped me out and he is my "glasses buddy to this day." When we get together we sometimes talk about our years of wearing glasses and have a good laugh over how stupid I was. So, yes I do wear glasses and when people ask me at what age I started I tell them, unofficially 20, and officially 22.

Until I had cataract surgery on June 1st I wore glasses, and had been wearing them since I was 6 yrs. old. So far I am still not having to wear any as I had cataract surgery on my left eye July 13th, and I can see pretty well except for small numbers up close. So unless something happens between now and September 4th when I have my next eye exam I think if anything I will just need reading glasses from time to time instead.

I started having to wear glasses when I was 12-years-old. I didn't wear them all the time, but I did for the most part. My visit was near-sighted, and that didn't help me any when I was trying to do my school work. Even though I wear contacts, I still wear my glasses. When that happens...it just depends on what's going on that particular day.

I wore eyeglasses when I was in 4th grade.I was diagnosed with astigmatism.I love reading, and even if it's dark,I read.when I got older,my astigmatism disappeared.I ate vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin A.I also stopped reading in the dark.I guess they helped a lot.

I started wearing glasses about a year ago, I think my eyes took the toll of having to stare into the computer monitor for 8 hours almost everyday. I had my eyes checked when I noticed that bright lights hurt my eyes.

I have worn glasses off and on since I was 10. I said off and on because my eyes changed. I even had a period where I didn't have to wear glasses at all. I've worn them long enough this time that they are just part of my face, and I feel naked without them.

I had to wear glasses when I was in 4th grade. During that time, I was actually excited. Wearing glasses in my school is not exactly a taboo. After a year, I started not to wear them anymore. I mean i can still 'see' without it so it's not a necessity for me. I only used it whe my eyes start to hurt. I bought 2 eyeglasses for the past 3 years and I think I need to start using them again especially at work. Of course I need to have an udated style because I dont want to look geeky wearing them. Im goin for the Intellectual but not geeky look :)

If it is eye glasses, i think everybody should wear when they have unusual eyes.Nobody know surely when should wear. For me if they are sun glasses, i wore since i had 30 years which are too late.Sun glasses help to protect my face not plus wrinkles around my eyes.

I was 6 months (yes that is months) when I started to wear glasses. I was told that if a babies eyes are not lined up straight by the time they are about 6-7 months old, they should get checked. I have a lazy eye and had to wear a "patch" for quite a few years. That actually saved the sight in my right eye. I basically was legally blind in the right eye when I was born so the patch worked. I do wear a patch every now and then (I am 46) so it keeps that eye strong. I haven't worn the patch in a few years so maybe I might start doing it again. I still have my glasses to this day.

Yes I wear eyeglasses. I started wearing them in grade school. I couldn't see the black board very well. That was the 1st clue. Now I trade off between glasses and contacts.

I started wearing eyeglasses when I was in firsty or sevond grade. I think I was seven years old. Over time, my eyes have gotten much worse, and I still, of course, have to wear them. My daughter, age six, and my son, age, eight, both had to start wearing them this year too.

Yes, I have worn glasses since the age of five. I have had a few years in there with contacts, but I made sure that I still have my glasses as a back up. It was hard wearing glasses at the age of five. I had those glasses shaped like cat eyes and the children would call me cat eyes. That is kind of rough on a little kid. Now and days the glasses are more fashionable.

I have been wearing eyeglasses since I was 4 years old. I was born cross eyed, and although surgery was preformed to correct it, I now have an astigmatism...it doesn't really bother me until I get sleepy. I have driven in the past without my glasses, but my vision is now too bad to do so!
