Now I'm not a huge Nora Roberts fan as generally her books are comfort reading for me, like mashed potatoes out of a box, quick, easy and generally satisfying with no real surprises but apparently she's HUGE out there and Lifetime LOVES her and keep making her books into movies starring the most unlikely of people. Like the new project they've got going to bring Midnight Bayou to the small screen starring JERRY O'CONNELL of Sliders and Crossing Jordan fame as the main character! I don't know about you but when I think of Declan Fitzpatrick I do not think happy go lucky, not that brilliant of an actor Jerry O'Connell! I mean I loved him as Quinn and sort of as Woody but really? He's really not who I'd think of to play this part and it just aggravates me that they chose him! I mean how many countless literary characters have we seen ruined on film by the wrong actor? UGH!

It's actually not coming out in theaters, it's going to be on the lifetime tv network or maybe the lifetime movie network (probably both *L*). I can't find any release dates for it yet but I'll have lots of warning as my mom watches a ton of Lifetime so she'll see the promos for it. I'll probably check it out. :)
There's an article on tvguide.com about it if you search Nora Roberts

I for one love books by nora roberts but have never seen one of her books made into movies. I will have to look into them and see how they are.

Oh Lifetime has made 4 of them into movies. Carolina Moon, Angel's Fall, Montana Sky and Blue smoke. According to IMDB Sanctuary and Magic Moments were also made into movies. The new ones coming up will be Midnight Bayou, Northern Lights, Tribute and High Noon. High Noon is supposed to star Emilie DeRavin from LOST who I really like. I haven't read that book though.

Thats why I dont like to watch movies based on my favorite authors novels. I have an image in my head what i want them to look like and i would be disappointed and the book wouldnt be the same.
