Has any creature taken a fancy to you?

I am not referring to human creatures. I am referring to an animal, a bird, or an insect or any other such creature that you can think of.
Recently, a butterfly took a fancy to me. He was a nice, big, beautiful guy with black and blue wings. I was stone washing my clothes, and this butterfly wanted to sit right on my face. When I chased him away, he settled down on my neck, then started kissing my back. I was truly flattered!! Do you think he was my sweetheart in my past life? I really enjoyed the attention.
Did any creature "fall in love" with you recently? Share the love stories, please!!
Cheers and happy mylotting

Wow Positiveminded that is amazing, the butterfly obviously did take a liking to you to be kissing your neck LOL.
The only story I have to share isn't that recent but years ago I worked in Surrey and each day called to a local company who were based in beautiful grounds with peacocks and each morning when I arrived Blue a male peacock used to be waiting for me and would jump up onto the balcony and fan his tail feathers out for me and sit there and wait for me to come back out again, it was a wonderful sight to see and all the employeees there used to laugh and say that Blue had a crush on me.
Huggles. Ellie :D

That is a very cute story! I think he was a sweetheart in this life. You said yourself he gave you pleasure!
Certainly my kitties have taken a fancy to me, but just the other day a ladybug did. I brushed it off 3 times and each time it determinedly flew back up and landed on me, like it had a purpose for being there. We were just friends though I think, and not lovers, hehehe.

We have a nice little superstition about ladybugs here. Actually, girls would give anything to have a ladybug land on them. Finding a ladybug on your person means that you will get a new love. Now, this ladybug landed on you THRICE? WOW!!!
Cheers and happy mylotting!

Hahahahaha! What's so funny about that is that I have only just recently 'got a new love'! (Shhhh, I don't think he knows that he has this effect on me!)

im not sure if its truly a "fancy" or if im just a means of a fast and tasty snack! but in the evenings below the back porch light a big green preying mantis will be perched couple times a month. i love preying mantis so im always trying to catch them when i see them.
this one doesnt mind though..all i have to do is lay my fingers out in front of him and he WALKS RIGHT ON! its awesome..course he knows that i will then hold him close to the inside of the porch light where all the bugs gather..he nabs one and then we sit on the porch and have a wonderful dinner conversation! lol..he will take a bite and then turn and look at me as im babbling to him!

I remembered I was in a restaurant a few years ago. It was one of those family restaurants and they have a cat there. Very tame! What was interesting was that the cat climbed on one of my friend's lap. Then he moved from one friend's lap to another (at least 4-5 people) and finally settled on me. I was pleasantly surprised. How I wish I had a picture taken at that time to show you. Pretty amazing!

Nice one... well, if my dog warming up to me counts, then yes that's my love story. She always makes it a point to leap and hug me (yes, literally) each time I approach her. She's a big sweetie.

Yes, but not like the butterfly took to you! LOL
My family and I got a bird recently. I got this bird from my local bid shop. Now, this bird didn't jump up and pick me, or anything like that. In fact, all the cockatiels in this cage were more or less running away from me. LOL But a fellow customer was able to get one and handed the bird over to me. I held this cockatiel up to my chest and he took to me so quickly, one of the employees there jokingly said that this bird was in love with me. LOL
Obviously my story doesn't compare to yours, but it's the best one I've got! LOL

Take a good look at this cat. Her name's Tiger and she is my pet. Isn't she adorable? Whenever I take my walk downstairs around the landscaped gardens, and I settle down on a park bench, Tiger will jump up onto the bench and sit next to me. She can sit there quietly staring at my face, as though craving for close attention. She eats off my hand. She likes it when I pat her gently for long periods, and at times she will close her eyes and enjoy the affection. If I am there for an hour, she will sit on the bench for an hour with me. Sometimes, when she feels like it, she will also sit on my lap. She doesn't like it when other cats take my attention away from her.
I lied... Tiger is actually not my pet. She doesn't live with me. She is a stray cat who happens to live in the gardens surrounding my apartment block. But she behaves like a pet to me, and she knows that I treat her like one over all the other cats, and I've treated her this way for four years now. She just loves being with me and no one else. I think in a sense she has fallen in love with me....hehe. We have become inseparable. If she decides to break off with me one day, I think I will cry.

Thanks for your vote...I enjoyed sharing about Tiger with you.
I was back at that same bench last night after my usual evening walk. Tiger was waiting in the nearby bushes, and when she sighted me walking towards the bench, she rushed out and ran towards the bench, jumped up and sat there in the middle of the bench even before I could sit down. This same scene is repeated many nights each week. Tiger's probably looking out for me each night to come by to feed her and keep her company. When I am about to leave, she can somehow sense it and lie down on all fours and let me gently stroke her head and body a couple more times when I say my goodbyes to her. How can one not love a cat like this, right?

As funny as it sounds, my dad's dog. She is the b*tchiest animal I have ever seen, and though animals are fine, I am not one that will rush to get the latest dog or any animal for that matter.
I came home after being gone for 10 years and this dog found me. I mean, she was deaf, blind, almost hairless and had no teeth. To top it off I avoided her because she smelled bad. I never liked her, she bit everyone else. This thing ended up dying in my lap. Everytime she sensed me around she was on my lap. I never knew why, but I found it a blessing that God had called her home. She was miserable and even though I never liked her she thought highly of me. Dad called me her angel. Who knows? Happy Mylotting!

Hi positiveminded! I like your idea! Maybe it was a past
love! That is so sweet! Wouldn't that be nice if that
is possible. I like the way you think very much! Maybe
that is why you are "positiveminded"! The butterfly sure
was persistent so maybe it did know you and wasn't going
to let you just push it away! The only creatures I have
had that fell in love with me are my cats! My cat Star
thinks he is my "lover boy cat"! He really thinks he is
my lover! He lays next to me in the bed and has to put his
arm around me like a person! He is so funny! He likes to
hold me and lets me hold his paw! I really think that he
thinks he is my "little man"! And my boyfriend is always
chasing him from the bed! Poor litte Star!

I did have a mouse once that seemed quite comfortable with me. I was a night owl, and used to sit in thwe kitchen reading and drinking coffee, and this little fellow (or gal) would come raiding. After a couple of weeks of quiet conversations the mouse would allow me to get quite close before it took off.
My partner, on the other hand, seems to exert an unhealthy attraction for spider wasps, who keep flying around her head and trying to build nests in her ironing board.

I acquired my cat Rosie when she showed up on our doorstep from who knows where and would not leave. She took a shine to me and would follow my every move from outside. Whichever room I happened to be in, she would sit on the window sill of that room and move around according to my movements around the house. She would look at me and cry out. She was not like this with anyone else in the house, needless to say after checking the neightbourhood for her owners we decided to keep her, that was 4 years ago and now she sleeps with me every night.

Yes I have two pet love birds named Ozzie & Harriet Nelson and I am totally in love with them.
They live in my studio and share everything I do.
We watch television and practice on all my musical instruments and they know every one of my songs off by heart.
Does anyone out there remember Ricky Nelson?
Well that is where I came up with their name as I watched the Ozzie & Harriet Show on television for years when I was just a lad.
I saw Ricky's last show and it was such a pleasure to be with him in person as he was an idol of mine.
Crocket.

I had a rabbit... he was so close to me, everytime i used to come back home after work, he demanded my attention for almost an hour... he used to circle my feet and jump on my dress or do something or the other till i dnt pet him and talk to him. and whenever i used to get him food, he used to be overjoyed. he used to literally jump on me... must be his way of saying thanks :)

I don't know if he was your soul-mate but he certainly found you attractive. I'm quite jealous, I've never been kissed by a butterfly. lol.
I think I met one of my soul-mates (I believe we have more than one) when I first met my dog, Willow, a 3 yr old GSD.
She'd spent her life in a shed with others of her breed and up till then had shown no interest in humans. She was barking loudly when they opened her cage for my husband but she walked straight past him and calmly came up to me with her tail wagging and put her muzzle into my hand. In minutes she was behaving as if she'd always been mine. It was love at first sight for us both and she's been my dog ever since. We've been together 18 months and she's always by my side or near me. She's one of the best behaved dogs we've ever had and obeys me instantly, always has, but it's funny to see someone else give her a command. She looks first at me as if to ask if she has to obey them!
I love all my animals but to bond with one instantly is something that has only happened once in nearly 60 years.

We were at the local zoo a few years back. They had a large enclosure with giraffes and ostriches. There was an ostrich that came up to me and followed along beside me all the way around the enclosure. I kept telling it, you can't come home with me, lol. It stood there watching me for a while after. Then we got to the buffalo enclosure and my hubby said the buffalo could come home with us.

How I wish a butterfly would not be shy enough to come near me albeit my palm. I am so into butterflies and dolphins. It would also be nice if I could play around and swim with some dolphins. You are one lucky soul and I envy you being fancied by a lovely creautre.

I have many cats at home. Every evening when it's time for me to come home, they be waiting at the gate for me. There's once when I went out-station for a week and upon my return, as soon as one of my feet touches the ground, one of them lay it's head on it and just refuse to move away. Until I have to pick it and starts stroking it. Animals also have feelings ...

That is really so touching. You are right. Animals do have feelings, they do understand, and they are one of life's greatest joys. :)
