the anticipation, the excitement and sometimes the drama of the first date. Some turn into horror stories, but most are just awkward and nervous times. Is there a first date that sticks out in your memory?

You know sometimes I miss those moments. It's not necessarily the first dates I miss, but I miss feeling excited whenever the phone rang, hoping it was my boyfriend. I miss the rush I felt when I saw him sign onto his AOL messenger. I even miss the feeling I got when I saw him. I never really had any special first dates, most of my dates were just something to do at the time. Honestly most of the guys I dated never took me on a date, we met somewhere and talked on the phone and eventually went to each other's house or something, but rarely did we go on a date. The few I did date... well each one was unique, but most of the time I was already in a relationship when I went on a date that turned into something, so it wasn't really exciting, it was just one of those things. My last first date was when I was like 20. I've been with hubby since I turned 21.

Now we get to watch our kids eventually go on their 1sts. That may be fun too.

Oh, I don't reflect backwards on any real first dates except the last first date, which would be to my wife. Of course, what I consider our first date might be different than what she considers to be our first date.

My first date was with my older brothers best friend, Arty. Shhhh....don't tell him. I don't think he knows we ever went out on a date. I was 15 and he was 19. I didn't really like him, but he was a nice guy so I said yes. We went to a place called Lone Star Steakhouse to eat for a late lunch/early dinner. After we ate we went across the road to a place called Hidden Cove which was a mini golf.arcade place. We had fun. We went out another time for Chinese food and went to an Antique Mall afterward. He was a sweet guys, but like I said I did not like him like that so it only ended up being those 2 dates.

I think you could add dread to the list of feeling in having a first date. After my husband passed away, when I began to think about dating again I dreaded the whole business. I did not look forward to all that goes with dating and when my present husband ask me out I liked him but did not look forward to dating so I told him I would have to think about it. I think this shocked him as in our age group their are a lot more women than men and it is easier for the men to get dates. He gave me his phone number and told me to call him when I had made up my mind. Needless to say we did have that first date and now have been married for almost 2 years.
