Did you ever get a package that had the right address on it but was the wrong person?
Last evening around 5:00pm.the door bell rang, my husband went to the door and laying on the porch was a small package, he could see that the UPS truck was driving away.
After he brought the package in he could see that it did not belong to us. The package had someone else name on it. I got out my phone book, looked up the name and called him up. I gave him my address and he came to pick it up. Was he ever glad to get the package because they were his contact lenses. He had the same address as mine except he lived on 5th street and I lived on 15th street.
Did this ever happen to you? Did you call the person up to come and get his package? or did you just call the UPS up and tell them to come and pick it up.

There have been a couple of times when I called a person to come pick up their package or mail. I have never had to call UPS to have them pick up the item. The recipient of the package was always grateful to me for calling them.

I know there are people who would keep the item. Not me. I would want to believe that if I were the one to have my package delivered to the wrong place that it would be returned to me.

It happened to me twice last year. I did call Fedex to deliver it to the right place. I rather let officials to do the job. Delivery guy was happy about my call, because he was responsible for leaving it at my doorstep.

I personally have never had this done but I've heard of others that did. We live in a very small town where we don't get door to door mail delivery we have to pick up everything at the post office. If however this did happen to me I would have tried to find the person just as you did. You did a good deed and one day you'll get a reward for it. Had you called UPS goodness knows haow long the poor fellow may have waited till next delivery besides if they couldn't get the address right the first times there's no telling what may have happened to the parcel.

I was just thinking the same thing, if I would have called UPS they would have send it back where it came from, and the guy would not get his contacts at all.

I used to sell Avon, and usually the deliverer would just leave the package on my porch, not even ringing the bell. One week when I was not expeciting a package because I did not place an order there was a box on my porch.
It actually belonged to a person who lived across the street. It is a good that I am honest, just like you, I took the package across the street and left it on the porch, no one was home.
The package had the correct address on it as well as the person's name.

that happened to me when I lived in Arizona. the VA hospital kept FedExing packages to someone at our place. My husband is also with the VA because of his time in Viet Nam, but these packages were not for him. They coudln't have screwed up his name THAt badly.

That is good that you knew who the letters belonged too.
