Genocide for world peace?

If it takes to rid a race just to have the sought-after world peace, would you support it? What if, it is your race, would you sacrifice for the sake of "peace"? This genocide thing has been resounding in my mind. I can't help but think of the Rwandan genocide on 1994. Reading some of its history, it was stated that the genocide was done for the good of Rwanda; that getting rid of the Tutsi tribe would mean that all Rwanda's problem would be over. I really don't know the real principle behind this genocide. But is this really the best solution to end their problem that time? And can be that applicable nowadays?

I think peace is a bit of an impossibility. As long as there are two or more people, there will always be philosophical, theological, etc. differences. Eliminating an entire group of people would not solve Rwanda's problems. I think people need to look deeper and stop looking for scape goats. Once that minority is wiped out, who will be next? They're looking for people to blame and the next in line could be anyone -- men, women, the educated, those with one leg, those with curly hair, and on and on.

I hope that it won't happen at all.

This absolute nonsense and is the scariest of justifications for genocide. behind the worst crimes against humanity is this kind of unconscionable logic. The reality is that there are good and bad people in all races. You cannot discriminate on the grounds of racem, nor generalise because that is totally unfair. The way to fight this negative and divisve talk is positve reinforcement. Where there is investment in rewarding people for good behaviour then countries have less need to 'blame' a minority group. The worst genocides happen in the poorest countries. Investment in people is the way to avoid disasters like this - stop the wars, end the corruption and focus on helping people help themselves.

i totally agree with you. We really need affirmative action so as to subsidize conflicts. Thanks for the response.
