I've never finished a book in a go even I like to. I have only one or two hours a day for reading so I have to do with a schedule. On weekend I can go with 100 pages per day, but sometimes I can only read 10 more pages a day. There's never enough time for reading and some books are so thick (over 1000 pages as the book IT by Stephen King) that I had to finish it in months.

I used to, before I ended up with four kids! I would read a book straight through all the time if it was a good one. Now I am lucky if I get to finish one in a couple of weeks, I think I get to read on average now about two books a month!

As much as I want to especially if the book is so good, but I have a hard time doing it becuase I have lots of things to do so the only time I have to read is before I go to bed and that would be a maximum of 1-1/2 hours :)

I am lucky nowadays to even FiNiSh a book. I usually have 5-10 books going at a time. A book has to be reallllly good for me to finish it. Otherwise, I will skim through it or just completely put it away. The last books that held my attention were the Twilight books, the Harry Potter books, and the book Eat, Pray, Love. I envy you and your ability to read a book straight through. Do you also enjoy reading legal books?

I do enjoy legal books, especially commentaries on international law.But I don't read them straight through as in the case of detective novels or science fiction thrillers. But what surprised me was your ability to have 5-10 books going at a time, brilliant.

If it's a detective one I just can't help reading it completely before I put it down.

That would be wonderful. I haven't been able to do that since I was a kid. No time to really. I have a busy schedule. Being a mom takes up alot of that. So sometimes it takes me months to finish a single read.

But you have more experience from the real life than from the books. That's important. Thanks for the response

I usually read a book at different times, I don't read it everyday, just whenever I have time to, sometimes I can spend hours reading if its a book that I'm really enjoying and I can't put it down. I don't think I've ever finished one in one day, it usually takes me awhile.

If it really reaches out and grabs me, I have been known to read a book in a sitting. I just tell the rest of the world (kids and hubby and dog too) to go away for a while. I can read a book in a few hours, so normally it's not much of a stress.
Otherwise, it takes me a few days to read a book, because I like to read for an hour or so right before bed.

Is it possible for any body??Then that will be really interesting.I like it.I had never read even a thin book in a go. I cannot concentrate myself in that manner since my childhood. I had to take several breaks to read a book even if it is a exciting detective story. But I have noticed that my brother could do that.

Hi friends
I cant finish a book in a single go.But some books are really very interesting which
I finish in a single reading especially comic stories ,detective novels and some
horror novels too.
But for some books i really take time to assimilate the knowledge in them into
my mind. They are the houses of knowledge.THERE IS SAYING WHICH I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE
SOME BOOKS ARE TO BE TASTED,OTHERS TO BE SWALLOWED ,AND SOME FEW TO BE CHEWED AND DIGESTED.
BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh thank you so much for that nice adage.I think I too should follow suit to imbibe the essence from the books rather than just increasing the number of books read.Thank you.
