Does your family have a recipe that has been passed down the generations?

"No one cooks ribs as good a my grandmother" my husband announced when we passed the ribs in the supermarket.
Right then and there I knew I had to have the recipe to make them for him too.
I asked his mom if she knew how her mother cooked her ribs.
"Oh yes of course!!" she answered "That recipe has been in her family for years"She was kind enough to share it with me and I do have to say they are out of this world..
I thought the whole idea of passing down family recipes was really nice.
My mom was a busy working mother with 5 kids and was not a very good cook..
A great mom but ok, her cooking skills were less than average and we ate a lot of processed stuff.
If it didnt come out of a box and could be ready in 10 minutes she didn't bother.
I taught myself to cook over the years and came up with some of my own recipes with some experimentation.
My daughter enjoys helping me cook and I always knew I would teach her at a young age how to.
She will carry on my recipes I hope..Sharing them with her children.
Is there a special recipe in your family? And who did it originate from?

My grandmothers were both from Yugoslavia and passed on a lot of reciepes from the old country down to their daughters and daughter in laws, and then down to grandchildren and great grand children. My sister and I both have some old receipes from our grandmothers.
I also have a chocolate cake receipe that my boyfriends sister gave me that has been passed down from their grandmother and mother and now to me also.
