What drama!

who thought that a Series between The Phillies and The Rays would have just amount of drama as my choice of the Dodgers and The Red Sox. I can't believe what I heard. The weather was so bad that the postponed the game in the 6th?What? I haven't been watching, like I said I would, so I didn't know about all this until now. If I were a Phillie fan, I would be more sad than angry. If I were a Ray fan, I would assume that Mother Nature is a Tampa fan.Was this the right thing to do? Now that the rest of this game will be played on Wednesday, are you going to watch?

I did watch, go phillies!! For non-Philadelphia residents, this series was exceptionally important because of the Curse of William Penn. During the eighties, developers built skyscrapers above the brim of William Penn's hat (on the statue), despite a warning against it... Since those skyscrapers were erected, no Philadelphia team has won a national championship. But this year, a new building was built taller than the rest, and put a statue of William Penn atop. And this is the first year since 1983 that a Philadelphia team has won a national championship! Fun folklore, but WOW, what a time to live in the Philly area!!!

Back when G-d was a boy, I was born in Philly so was my mom. When I was 8, we moved to Virginia so I knew about the Penn rule. But about ten years ago, they showed the Philly skyline and I was in shock. All these skyscrapers towering over William Penn! I couldn't believe it.

The funny thing about the "curse" is that the developers justified building the skyscrapers above the brim of Penn's hat because they were all behind him... so he wouldn't be able to see it!

I am not a baseball fan, so I won't be watching. I've never heard of a game being rained out while in progress, but I suppose it could happen. Two of my best friends, one in Tampa and one in Philly who themselves are best friends, are having a lot of fun teasing eachother about who is going to win the series. LOL

Regular season games get rained out all the time. But the season is so long that it isn't hard to re schedule. But this is the World Series , the last games of the season. It is when the casual fan finally tunes in.I hope your friends can still be friends when the Series is over. I hope If The Phillies win, their fan is treated to dinner by the Rays fan and visa versa.

I think that the Phillies fan should treat the Rays fan to dinner. :) After all, the Phillies fan probably won a bunch of money on a bet that they would win and therefore have the money to afford dinner! Plus, the Rays fan is probably understandably sad and upset right now, so, THEY are the ones who should be treated to a nice dinner right about now! *LOL* :)

yes it wss the right decision and yes I'm going to watch. I was jumping up and down when Pena scored. And I'm sure Bud Selig remmebers all too well the anger a few yers back when he let the all star game end in a tie. I just wish I didn't have to wait till tomorrow.

I am the opposite. The moment the Rays beat my Red Sox and The Phillies beat The Dodgers, I forgot that baseball was on. I would hear the scores on ESPN
