What kind of movie endings annoy you?

Are you annoyed when a movie ends with a sad theme? Do you like happy endings? Or do you like open endings, where you make your own decision on the end? Personally, I dislike movies that have unanswered questions. I think the writers could not complete their story, so the leave unresolved questions. This annoys me. How about you myLotters?

I hate Science fiction movies. I never enjoyed watching movies or reading books about this genre. Contrary to my son who is into it. I like movies that keep my mind thinking about the subject. I like thrillers mostly. © ronaldinu 2008

We have similar interests. I like a good story when I go to the movies, not these 80% computer driven action, or sci-fi scenes kids seem to love nowadays. A good drama or thriller will do me anyday.

I know what you are talking about!!!
I absolutely hate a movie when the ending if left open. Like when you know for a fact, part 2 is already in the works. I'd rather see a good ending, and a new begining for the part too if there is one.

I agree. I also don't like illogic endings, and by this I don't mean the end is a surplise, but doesn't follow the logic of the story.

I like happy ending comedy or action. I don't watch horrors. I check movie review before I watch to make sure I want to watch the movie.

Well, I'm with you, I don't watch horror movies, and I'm not overkeen on most action films. I think the story suffers so they can show alln the computerized action scenes.

I am a big fan of movies, and I think that watching a good movie is a good way to relax when you are really stressed, and it also a good way to pass the time when you are bored with nothing to do,or if it is raining outside, especially if you cuddle up to the one you love, with a bowl of popcorn while watching a movie, and I agree I do not like the type of movies that leave you with unanswered questions, and I also do not like movies that have endings that do not do the movie justice,or that do not make much sense.

I love a good movie, but I find the sound tracks are usually way too loud nowadays, so most of my movie watching is at home now too. I hte movies that aren't complete. A good story can be spoiled by a poor, or unreasonable ending.

I'm pretty picky lol I only like happy and closed endings. I don't care how scary or how tragic it gets as long as it ends happy. That's probably why I don't like to watch things when I know it won't end good (ex. main character has terminal disease). However, it's incomplete endings and sad endings that are the most memorable with me. They cause me to think critically afterwards and I tend to remember those ending years later.

Sometimes a happy ending doesn't suit the script of the movie. Under these circumstances a sad ending is OK. However I agree incomplete endings are frustrating. It appears as though the writer hasn't made up his mind.
