Are you a workaholic or are you lazy?

I've seen both of this type of person on the Dr Phil show.
Lazy people can get jobs but they don't bother to try to look for one, they sit on their mom's couch all day and play video games.
Workaholics go to work a lot, and don't spend time with the family enough.
I think I would be closer to a lazy person, because I don't really get a good feeling out of working. But then again, if I have a life in which I am not surrounded by people I like, and if I was lonely, I could see that someone would absorb themselves in work, too. I think I'm balanced, in the middle, though.

I am neither lazy nor a workaholic. I am a medium person. I do not escape work. What is expected of me, will be done to the best of my ability. At the same time, my family is also important to me. I strongly believe that parents' attention towards children is very very important in their growing up. I will not compromise that for any thing.

I try to be someone in between. When I am at work I work like a mad dog but when I am at home I play video games and I do enjoy a relaxed life. Or at least I try to. I try to spend quality time with my son and my family. © ronaldinu 2008

It is hard to say this generally. There are days when I just want to relax and do nothing more. And there are days when I really work hard. But must say there is more days I want just relax than the working days. But on the other hand I got part-time job, I got my school, my friends ,my girlfriend and other activities so there is lot of things I have to catch almost every day so I guess I can not be lazy person although my girl tells it to me sometimes.

I am not a workaholic, not any more. I used to be. I worked fourteen hours a day. I was away from my children too long and they started to play up, so I cut my hours down.
Now I do not work as I am not well at the moment. I am not lazy, but not just as active as I should be. I think I am on here to much at the moment though. I have four Children to look after so I do not think I am lazy.

I'm a workaholic, i worked overtime everyday, though sometimes i feel stressed, i just can help it to work hard, funny, am a single person, and no family to support for, all my brothers and sisters has a job, and they're wondering i work so hard, maybe i just don't want to feel bored, so i keep my self busy.

To me, the definition to a workaholic is a person who's addicted to work. That could be a job out of the home, a job in the home, taking care of a home...of family -- of others.
I'm a workaholic in this sense. I hardly know how NOT to be doing something, normally. From the time I wake til I go to sleep, I'm always doing something.
I do have my occasional lazy moments, but usually due to restlessness and the infrequent touches of apathy, than much else.
I think it is a coping thing, but for me it was never loneliness that I ran from...with working.

I'm pretty lazy. I do the things I need to do (can't stand having a messy house or unmade beds or piles of ironing stacking up) - but I don't go out of my way to make new work for myself! Everyone else in my family is very industrious, and they look for projects to start and new things to do - but they definitely don't get that trait from me - it's from my husband's side of the family, for sure!

Hi Sheepie,
you have to find a balace here, if you find a job that you like and you are interested in, you will be happy and you don't have to be a workaholic, if you work normal hours so you can spend time at home with your family, but lazy people always find excuse for not working and just love to hang aroun on mothers couch playing video games, sooner or later, they will suffer from depression, they should get up and find life. Hugs.

I am somewhere in between, I do need to look for an extra part time job but I need to start looking for ome, I am responsible but I need more motivation.
I have never lounge at mom's home with a kid, once I worked I supported my grandmaa and help my mom on her own of need.
So because both are gone I can only lounge at my man's sofa now.

hi
I'm firmly placed in between a workaholic and lazy people. Now, i'm a retired person. But when i was on job, i worked hard when it was necessary at the same time i didn't miss other side of my life. So you can say i worked sincerely when it was necessary and spent time lazily with my family when it was appropriate.

I want a job...I just dont want to walk an hour to a job...I'm 16 so its not that big a deal for me yet, I have applied to a place pretty close to here, went through all the procedures my brother told me (keep going back, talk to the manager etc.) and didnt get the job...but we are moving to the middle of a bigger city soon, with like... a mall thats about a 15 minute walk and lots of other stores in the immediate area, I'm psyched and really hoping I can find a job :P
But yeah, I tend torwards lazy, but I'm also a realistic dreamer (as In I am going to TRY HARD to make my dreams come true XD and I seek out realistic ways to make them come true)
