Helium is now allowing its members to use embedded links in their articles. The first thing I thought was "Wow, I can use this to improve my blogs' link popularity. I can even use this to drive traffic to my other articles in Triond to bring me more money."
Great, right? What do you think? Do you think it is a good move to allow the Helium writers to use embedded links?

Hi there!
I don't know much about Helium but I hear its a good site to submit articles. And if it allows its writers to post links in their articles, it would be a lot of help to promote your other sites to get more traffic.
By the way, how much is the payout at Helium?

External linking may be okay but I guess not for self promotion. It is not considered a professional writing. I did not read the latest news though.

Self-promotion is one of the Don'ts in Helium's User Agreement. And anyone can flag any article using the embedded links as self-promotion.
But if used wisely, it can be a helpful tool to improve your page views and thus increasing your earnings. You can even link to your other Helium articles when appropriate.

From what I read about it, the links are supposed to be related to the content of the article. You're not supposed to use them for self-promotion. So, no, it's not great if that's why you're glad.

For example if you have a blog about television, you just have to write an article of related content and then link to your blog.
It now becomes an article directory, the only difference is, it pays.

As you have stated in your article there are some Dos and Don’ts that allow you to embed links to provide sources for your articles, but you must not use embedded links to link to your personal blog or business website.
Self-promotion in articles is strictly against Helium's User Agreement. You can promote your own links on your About Me page.
Linking to one of your own articles would be seen as self-promotion, and I think if you do it you could get flagged.

They actually said in the forum that it would be ok to link to your own article as long as it is related and appropriate.
They don't want you writing "Read more about ... here". You should link to it without promoting yourself or your articles.
Have a nice day!

Yes, it's a great move and will benefit many users. I wish I have more time so I can start activating my Helium account. I only created an account but I have not started so far. Thank you for this good news because it is motivating me. Have a nice day!

I am glad that you are motivated by this news. It also has the same effect on me. I am now thinking of ideas on how to incorporate my blog and my other Triond articles in a Helium article.
