I finally learned how to cook Pochero! hubby has been bugging me to cook a menu for him, he wants Pochero, unfortunately, it was one of the dishes that I am afraid to try to cook. Then, one day, I gave in to his whims, rather, he gave in to his whims and cook Pochero (I am the one to cook it but I was experiencing some pain then) His pochero turned out good (we have to search on the net how it is cooked). LAst night he requested that I cook Pochero, following a recipe (and some modification) I brave the pot and started cooking it. Turns out mine was a lot better! To share with yuo, here is how I cooked it. first simmer the pork with chorizo until the meat is tender. Put some onions in it (cut in halves), pepper corns and spring onion. Saute garlic and onion and tomato sauce, then add the tender meat and chorizo Simmer for a while. WHile on the stock where the meat was boiled, put in the vegetables and simmer for about 3 to 5 minutes (just enough so that the vegetables are somewhat blanched) Then add some stock on the pork and let it boil for 5 minutes, add some salt Then add the blanched vegetables (banana, potato, cabbage, pechay, string beans) Turn off and serve with steaming rice. Yum! yum!

what a good wife you are coking for your husband and that was great I think. congratulations that you learned to cook a meal he requested you to. your husband must be happy for that, well you know I am not good on the kitchen but when somebody asked me to cook pochero for them (and as if some one would be brave enough to ask me to cook for them) I will copy your recipe and cook like that and hope that mine would taste as good as you cooked it

Pochero? Oh my dear that is one of my specialty however I am using chicken isnstead of pork. Oh it is one of my son's favorite dish actually. Every time he'd see me cooking and will learn that it's pochero...he'd clap his hand and say" Yahooo then he will tap his stomach while smiling. I love to see my family enjoying the food I prepare so I am really taking a lot of research to improve my kitchen skills each time. I think a good mother should really know how to cook. It's the main duty of a mother to cook for her family so I am glad you are one of those good mothers around here. Keep it up and learn more cooking!
