I have the ability to use my next door neighbors broadband access (without them knowing) & as I am on dial up I tend to be using alot of their access (wireless & they are unsecure)
Is it wrong for me to do this? I mean really it is their own fault for not making sure it was secure (mine is & I have made sure it is) I have managed to download abbout 3 movies so far on their connection.

Just don't do anything that might bring to law down on them. I would not download movies or anything like that. Otherwise as long as you are not causing them any problems I wouldn't worry about it. Just remember that anything you do on their wireless internet connection can be charged to them and can cause them serious problems.

PS;
My neighbors use mine all time and it doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't cost me one cent more and doesn't cause me any problems so why should I care if they use it. I could change my password and stop it but that would probably cost my neighbor money that he probably can't afford to spend. I just don't believe in treating my friends and neighbors that way. They are not stealing anything from me I am giving it to them.

Ok, it is kinda wrong to download from their internet connection, but seriously, how many of us would really tell them? Or turn a blind eye to the fact that we could use it. Let's face it, if it was the other way around, would they tell you?
I'm not sure about the legalities of it all, so you might want to find out about that, but do you really feel bad, or do you just think you should?

It is totally dishonest and when their bill increases because of the extra usage they are going to be very puzzled. You are taking advantage of their inexperience and lack of knowledge and that is exploitation as well as theft.
You are basically saying that it is ok to steal from people because they do not know how to protect themselves. That is extremely unethical and if it was a big company ripping you off because they could you would feel quite differently about it. You would be hostile and want them punished.

Other than ethics and you knowing you did not pay for the access, I am not sure how will your neighbors be affected by you using their insecure broadband access, I do not know how it works.
We have dsl and it seems that as time goes by it is getting cheaper because other people have come up with faster connection (like cable),

I could not have put it any differently to the previous poster. It is dishonest, unethical, criminal, selfish, anything else bad you can think of. And because all those things are so obvious, it's one of the silliest questions I have yet seen on Mylot.

It is not only unethical, it illegal by law also. If you do some unlawful activities usin others unsecure wireless network, firstly the original owners of the network will be held responsible. But the owner of the unsecured wireless can easily find out on his router menue or wireless modem menu that who are the IPs logged in and soemtimes it may be problem for the person using the net without authorisation.
