Say you are served with the sweet dish along with the main food. Will you also take the sweet dish in between taking the main course? Or you will wait for the main course to end and then take it? I am noticing, if I am served, i feel to have some along with main course.

Subha I don't mind eating sweets in between. But then,I am not fond of normal sweets. However, when it comes to custard, puddings I can devour anytime.

I prefer to have the sweet dish last, and keep it aside even if it is served with the nmain course.I like spicy food and I feel taking sweets in between takes away the taste of the main course.I am a slow eater and wait patiently to finish my main course before digging into my dessert.

Well, in my country... the sweet dish is usually served last... and only when we are done eating the main food... so there is really little chance of tasting it in between taking the main course... but during fiesta time... it is placed on the table along with the other dish... so that is when i get to eat it together with the main dishes...

I am very fond of sweet and if something is given to me with the main course I will surely taste it in between. Cannot wait till the end of the meal.

I will wait for the main course to end and then take it because if I take it along with main food I feel cant to eat main food again

Most likely people order their deserts after their meal here in America so therefore the waitresses tend to ask after the dinner to see if anyone wants a dessert. If it is a buffet of sorts and I can eat whatever my heart desires I usually take and eat the main dish before proceeding to the dessert as I feel better that way instead of eating both or the sweet before which tends to make me crave more sweets. As for if the taste of the food intertwines, if I do eat sweets along with a meal I do not have a problem with the taste unless the cake is strong.
