I wouldn't think so. The clarity of digital cameras are amazing and cannot be achieved by camera phonesNo , because price of quality digital camera (not yet in market) plus phone will be higher than simple digital camera.

This is a very good question because no one ever knows how far camera phones are going to go,and how far digital cameras are going to go in the future, since new technology keeps being found, and things keep getting made more and more complicated with newer features,I honestly do not think that camera phones will put digital cameras out of business, because you can find digital cameras a decent prices and camera phones are always expensive and plus there is the fact that you have to upload the pictures, from the phone,I have never seen the point of camera phones because a cell phone is supposed to call people, and allow people to call you not do all kinds of other things.

We have to consider two aspects before coming to any conclusions! First is thst though the Cell phones with Cameras don't give good pictures, because they are having VGA camearas in them, now a days people are using better camers and they are getting (if not better results) results as good as digital cameras as these phones are equipped with good numbered Megpixels. When we compare such phones with the Digital Cameras at lower end of pricing, any body would go in for these cameras instead of Digital camera for the multiple uses of the Cell phone! Next aspect is diital cameras as meant for specific job and are used by specific peple like professionals who are interested in taking a quality photos and these cameras are and always have been very expensive and are not purchased by the common people. This is something like purchasing a automatic or fixed lense Camera in which people are using film roll instead of using SLR cameras though the quality of latter are any day better than the former ones! This is becausemostly common man wants to have photographs or pictures as a sort of memories of a particular time and he/she is really not bothered about bthe details of the picture quality. Picture quality is seen by professionals and people concerned with the relevent art. So in my opinion like in past the high end Digital cameras will b sold to specific customers and they will never loose their market but the low end digital cameras may suffer a bit for peple can have similar pictures with todays Cell phones at much lesser price! Don't you believe me ? Pick up any Chinese set and try your self to believe! They are giving excellent results at a quite affordable price! Thanks for initiating a nice discussion! Happy Mylotting!

I'm not the expert on this, but I guess not. Camera phones are convenient. But a camera is a camera. And a digital one at that. Lets see what comes up next.

It wont happen. Even low end digital camera cant be replaced by high end cellphone camera in term of picture quality. Digital camera use high quality and wide lense. It use lense to zoom for maximum result. It also use high powered blitz. Even low end camera have this basic standard. cellphone camera use small lense, low power blitz (if it featured) and undoubtly digital zoom (no match for lense zoom). Well, thats what I think.

It can't be replaced for professional photographers and cameramen, but it certainly can for average people. My sister's phone has an 8.0 megapixel camera in it! 8!! That's even clearer than her and mine cameras D= both 6.0 megapixels! So in terms of photo clarity, it is possible to outdate normal cameras. But in terms of things you can actually do with them, a camera is much better, since phone cameras are limited to a limited-length video and can't do much with ordinary photos

I don't think camera phones will completely replace digital cameras because there will always be people who are into having better quality photos. However there is an important segment on today's photo-taking population who rely solely on their phone's camera and while they might own a digital camera it usually stays stored away in some drawer until a special occasion merits using the 'good' camera. I am a busy mom and 99% of the significant photos that I share with friends are family were snapped with my cell's camera. Yes.... a photo from a 'real' digital camera might have been better but you know what?..... the 2.8/5.6 3.2 megapixel camera with a Zeiss lens in my Nokia is actually better that the digital camera I always forget to carry with me and when I finally remember to bring the camera along it is always out of batteries.

Yes i agree with you.The clarity of a digital camera is much better than a camera phone. The cost of a high camera phone is higher than a digital camera. But I think most people prefer carrying either a camera phone or digital camera. Some people carry both.Because both function in the similar way.I think digital camera has much more functions than a camera phone.

I doubt it. Even if cell phone picture quality improves and the majority of regular people start using cell phones instead, professional photographers and artists will still use digital cameras. I doubt that cell phones will ever have the photo-taking options that cameras have.

It will not. Bcos camera is a camera and phone is a phone. In simple terms, we cannot have Optical Zoom easily in a phone which is the main thing in a camera. Regards.

I think they will. I'm a REALTOR and I use it all the time if I'm taking quick pics for clients of mine. I'll bring the camera if I'm taking pics of houses to list them, but for the most part the camera phone works fine and I'm sure they'll be coming out with a whole bunch of new advances with them soon. They are so easy to tote around I don't even bring my camera on vacation with me anymore.
