What name did you and your spouse pick for your child and Why?

When we were growing up my mom and aunts and uncles were named after grand parents, parents or there aunts and uncles. My first child was names after his dad, my second child was named after an actor I thought it was a great name and was in the last months of pregnancy when I heard it and thats what I decided on. Im a teacher and Now days you see so many new and different names it makes me wonder how did they pick there childs name. So What name did you and your spouse pick for your child and Why?

My wife and I pick our babies names referring to dragons

i am 38 weeks pregnant now and i am so excited.
well, choosing a name is not that easy. it took us a few months to finally come up with our son's name. i wanted it to be after my husband's name and i searched on the internet about the meanings of different names. i suggested to him some names but he didn't like. one day, a name suddenly popped out my mind and i told my husband. he liked it then. good for me cause alot of people are already asking for the name of our son.
well, choosing a name is not that easy. it took us a few months to finally come up with our son's name. i wanted it to be after my husband's name and i searched on the internet about the meanings of different names. i suggested to him some names but he didn't like. one day, a name suddenly popped out my mind and i told my husband. he liked it then. good for me cause alot of people are already asking for the name of our son.

My first child was named after a street name...The reason was i had false labor and we went to the hospital a lot,and we passed this street with a real nice name,so i decided we would name the baby after that street..When we told my mother in law she liked the name & said that "Ray" would be a good second name,so thats what we named him..Second son was named after my Hubby..Third son was named after his grandfather..The two girls we just liked the names and was not named after anyone...I had five children all together...Three boys and two girls...

In the part of the world why I came from, We don't name our children after our grand parent, parent or aunt and uncle at all. We normally name our child according to the event that happen then or that surround the birth of the child. We are very religious in our land that we use to name our child in accordance with our believe.
In our own case, myself and my spouse decided to name our child after our believe, because we are Christian, so we name our child after God. Like for example our first child is called Ololawole, which mean a wealthy personality has enter our house. This is the circumstance that surround his birth. The second one was name after God as Oluwasemiloore, meaning God has giving us a gift. As we know every child is a gift from God.
