I am sorry for my poor vocabulary. May I know, what does "saything" mean?

I usually answer with "Hello" unless it's my boyfriend then I usually answer "Hey Handsome!" or something like that.

When I am answering a phone call, usually I will say "Hello", even though it's a call from a Chinese friend. I am just used to say "Hello" instead of "ni hao", even though I am speaking Chinese in the phone call.

That all depends. If I am at work of course I have a little "mini-script" to say for my company.
If they are calling me on my cell phone I will usually know who is calling and say "Hello" or "Hi" and their name... If it's my boyfriend calling I will usually answer, "Hi babe!"

I always say, "Yes, good _____ [morning, afternoon, evening]." I really don't know why I say that, but it's how I talk to people on the phone ever since I turned seventeen.

usually i just say "Hello". but if its been one of those days where the phone is ringing all day long and ive gotten agitated about it..i end up saying "Grand Central Station how may i direct your call?" and then wait the couple of seconds it takes for whomever is calling to think of what to say or do LOL!!
you'd be surprised how many times ppl..telemarketers in particular, will just hang up instead of trying to verify the phone number they called!

We have caller ID so if we know the people I usually say "hello such and such" and use their name in place of such and such. If I am not sure who will be calling (it could be anyone in a household, afterall) I say Hello and wait for someone to respond to me and then I might say "Oh hello such and such" .
