This li ion technology also is not working for me
I bought HP Pavillion TX1003 au laptop 1year ago, Now the battery will not last for
even 15minutes , HP Battery check is saying that the battery is weak.
Is there a solution to this problem? Which kind of battery should I buy in the
future. Now i use my laptop on A/c power all the time .
I took very good care of my batteries , i used to remove the battery when i use
A/c power , to avoid over heating /over charging etc

hi, bobyktm.
it's the first time i heard about removing the battery when using a/c power.
anyway, i am now on my third laptop and batteries are really like that. about more or less year, they do not last as long as they did when brand new. a computer technician advised me that i must never overcharge the battery and to never let it get totally drained. so, i put in the power cord at 15% remaining. so far, so good.
have a nice day!

Remember to always connect the laptop to a UPS when you run it on A/c and then only
remove the battery , if there is a power failure , the UPS takes care of it.
The battery is undergoing a chemical process called oxidation all the time, hence
the internal resistance goes on increasing, so eventhough the battery has charge
the internal resistance prevents it releasing the charge . So remove the battery
if u use A/c often . Ideally such batteries should be kept at a temperature of less than
20 deg centigrade. There is a protection circuit in the laptop to prevent
over charging. The batteries are monitored for temperature change also in the laptop
while charging. There are several safety mechanisms to prevent an explosion while
it is used inside a laptop. It is called smart battery by HP

in my case I purchased a 3 in one from HP, they said it is under warranty for one year but when I took to their agents they warranty already expired. HP systems may be good in my case very very bad experience, never go for any HP items.

All warranties are like that , except for SONY, SONY repaired my digital camera
three times , they even replaced the mother board for free , its cost is half the price of
the camera its a DSC W5, a great camera , i have taken 8500 pictures already , it
was on a three year waranty. I did not extend my HP laptop waranty , paying a huge amount for it is not
worth it .

When you were using the battery, you didn't use the power supply as well did you? This can wear out your battery very fast. It's good that you took the battery out whilst you were using the power supply only. Good luck. Andrew

Have your tried charging the battery using another HP laptop of the same model. It is normal that battery's lifespan is somewhere around a year if you have be using and recharging it frequently. Rechargeable batteries have individual charge cycle that will determine the lifespan of your battery. If you often use the laptop till it goes flat, it may damage the cells in the battery. I usually set the laptop to hibernate at 15% - 20% on remaining battery power. It is also failing now 2.5 years after use. Time to get a replacement. Happy MyLotting...

Is there any thing that I can use to add to the lifetime of my batteries, besides re-charging them?
