I have been in pain and sick for 5 days with an abcessed tooth. I have no dental insurance so I am riding this out till January when I start back to work and can get my teeth fixed. I have two teeth that I have lost the fillings in. So they have to be fixed.
Ever find yourself poor beyond poor with no insurance?

Glad you are fine now. I can say I am lucky coz I haven't experience having bad toothache. When I was in the Philippines I don't worry about any insurance coz I can go to a doctor or dentist anytime I want. But now that I am here in states, I realized insurance is really a big deal here.

I was wondering where you'd gotten to. My husband and I are in that position right now, need dental work (he does), and we're both $h!t poor right now, and he's flying to Canada on Saturday. Every penny we both have is tied up in him getting here. I have just enough money left to buy enough coffee so I'm allowed to sit here in the coffee shop and use the internet in hopes of making more money.

Good luck Leah. I guess I should go to Gather and read and rate you. I hate having to wait on dental, but it seems we have no choice sometimes. Have a cup for me.

Hey, sweet, that is me right now. I have a big dental bill I am paying on, hubby needs all of his lowers pulled and needs plates. He has uppers. In your position, I would rinse twice daily with peroxide, just to keep down the infection.(My dentist says this is okay for me, I asked) I hope you can hold on until it is better for you financially.

Thanks. Peroxyl is a form of peroxide and it feels so good. this whole thing sucks and I think teeth are highly overrated at this point. I will probably end up losing all my lower teeth and a good portion of the top ones.

Sure have and hope you can get your teeth fixed soon before infection really messes you up. Hubby finally has dental and is going to get the last 5 of his teeth pulled because they are all rotted out. He claims they don't hurt him but they are all black and surprised they haven't fallen out on their own yet.

Yes, I have foun myself poor beyond poor with no insurance. but than again I have found myself poor beyond poor with health insuarance. But no money at all to pay co pays or dedeuctibles. So, I still couldn't go tot he doctors.
As for your tooth I suggest using mouthwash on a daily routine. Listerine will work to help find the infection in your absess toooth. Also Menedent toothpaste also health. Good luck. As I know how you feel. My family currently has no dental insurance. If my social security gets approved. One of the first things I plan on doing is going to get my teeth taken care of.

I feel for you. My other half has lots of problems with his teeth, and we have no dental insurance so they cost a fortune. When we can't afford the treatment he just has to grit his teeth (haha) and bear it.
I hope the abcess goes down of it's own accord soon, you poor thing.
