Liverpool struggles to a narrow wictory over portsmouth earlier while chelsea and man u keep their pace with wins too. arsenal draw their game after a thriller with spurs at 4 goal apiece. Aston Villa won their game too and now this season is closer with the 5 teams within 6 points of each other. it is also interesting and see how long before the leading pack of big 4 break away or will villa sneak into top 4? what is your prediction? i am going for liverpool, chelsea, man u and arsenal

I saw the Liverpool vs Portsmouth match and was glad that Liverpool won it by 1-0 through a penalty by Steven G. Throughout the match, I was wandering when the goal will arrive coz with total domination, Liverpool couldn't break down Portsmouth defences. It was a game full of drama and tension, and luckily, my heart is OK. I was surprised that Arsenal and Spurs drew 4-4 at the Emirates. Guess Cesc Fabregas has to eat his words now coz he mentioned earler that the Spurs team couldn't even beat Arsenal's Ladies team. The Man Utd juggernaut is starting to show pace now and theyll be there till the finish line come May 2009. For Chelsea, it was a predicted win as their squad's quality is too much for the 'surprise team' Hull.
liverpool to me, if they maintain this kind of form, will definitely be the favourites to become champions of England since 1990. But the season is still 1/3 and anything can happen in the next 7 months (i.e. loss of form, injuries, inconsistency, etc). The best time where we can see who are there in the title race is in March. But to me, the Big 4 of Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool will be there.
So, my prediction for the season, by champions to the 4th place would be Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal.

haha. spot on with the prediction exactly the same as mine. yes, spurs despite their poor form manage to sneak a point at emirates. they now have won 1 and drew 1 under new manager and i think they will pick up. arsenal immaturity shows again with their youngsters and letting a 2 goal margin slip past them. liverpool were dominating but rarely threaten against portsmouth so i am really glad they won cos inside me i was thinking not another stoke result again. hope they can last the pace. i rather they will the title than champion league.

This saturday it's Liverpool vs Spurs. Hope that the Liverpool winning streak will continue as we'll have Torres back in the squad. Also hope that Keane will start and get his 1st premier league goal for Liverpool against his old club. If they don't beat Spurs, then all the critics will start to questions Liverpool's title credentials. But if they go on and win at Spurs, I hope they score more goals coz like Benitez, can't take it too much seeing your team playing out a game with a 1-0 scoreline. As such, will be glad if Torres can score a brace of goals come this Saturday.

yes, the game against spurs is interesting. unfortunately we have to face them when they have more to prove and also on an upward trend in tern of form. they are not a bad team but just that they are affected by the berbatov saga and too many new players. but we need to beat them to prove our credentials. games against them always produced goals traditionally so i hope keane will score too. it would be an icing if we can get a win with goals from torres, keane and kuyt
