A study at the University of Chichago found that participants who slept only four hours a night for two nights had an 18 percent decrease in lephtin and a 28 percent increase in ghrelin. Lepthin is a hormone that suppresses your appetite, while ghrelin is a hormone that make you hungry. Is this true?

sleeping more will not help you lose weight, but here's the thing, i have read somewhere before that if you get less sleep, you tend to eat more because you get comfort from the food.when you lack sleep, you are not as energized, you will have to eat more to feel energized.

Hi, sleeping more will definitely not help you lose weight. I’m also concerned cause I read in one of your other posts that you only ate 2 apples, a banana and oatmeal each day. The only thing you’re losing with that kind of diet is your health. You must eat more but differently. When you eat less you get headaches, hair loss and you actually have more difficulties losing weight because your body feels you’re starving yourself and because your body is afraid of not having enough food, it stocks fat in prevision. So the less you eat, the more fat you keep. keep posting..

I think this is true. I had worked as a global support executive in a bank in my country for a month. During that time there are six other co-workers who had the same working hours as I had. We started work at 4 in the evening and our shift ended at 2 am. During our working hours my coworkers had urged to me eat like they do. They told me after a while I will get used to the working hours and I would feel hungry like they do. I was new so I didn't feel hungry but I saw them eat a full set of dish as if it was dinner and lunch. By the way it was 12 am or 1 am and we are supposed to be sleeping at that time and not hungry. I didn't want to follow their lifestyle though, because I didn't want to get fat. Furthermore I had taken my meals before I came in to work and I think it is sufficient for me.
