How do you keep a great friendship together while being so far apart? I am very far away from my best friend. We are doing the best we can. It truly is hard because we are so used to being with one another just about every day. We will have to be this way for at least three years. So, how do you include one another with day to day life and how do you make sure the friendship still stays just as strong?

It takes two to keep up a friendship so hopefully your friend is committed to making an effort also. Anyway just keep in touch by e-mail, phone, letter, whatever works for you. Share information about what's happening in your life, ask questions about what's happening in your friend's life. Don't just wait for your friend to contact you or get mad if you don't hear something every day. If you both want to stay close, you will stay close!
