How smart is your child?

Ok, I know most people would say their child is very smart but my middle child is too smart! She will be 2 on Saturday. Here is what I get to deal with everyday. We had to put an extra lock on the doors because she would stand on a toy , unlock the dead bolt and go outside. She can change the DVD's out and start them. She uses the computer chair to reach this one. Baby gates she laughs at. She can even get herself dressed. She also knows how to use my cell phone to call her father at work. What would you do when It come to shopping for her christmas gifts? Would you get toys for the agge of 2 or is the age of 3 ok to get?

As long as she understands not to put things in her mouth, I would play to her strengths and get the older toys, I'd even consider Legos or Lincoln logs, it sounds like she has good manual dexterity and that should be encouraged, a leap frog will give her a head start on typing as well as reading. Good luck, my son was just like her and now he is in his second year of University studying to be an architect, encourage her curiosity, but set limits as well.

thanks! I did get her the gift that I wanted and she loves it. I am going to be looking into the leap frog for christmas and Really start working on her writing and reading in the next year. I figure I can have her well ahead before she goes into kindergarden.
