Do stars have any impact on earning money?

Does star have any impact on earning money.. I mean if a person has a 9 star ranking then will he earn more that a person having 5 star rating?

I have read from others that it doesn't have any impact on earnings. However there is one fellow mylotter that would probably beg to differ. She had absolutely no star (even with having over 300 posts) and no earnings. Strange but true.

Her username was Pajamamaama. I don't know her personally, I just noticed one day on a discussion I responded to that she was starless. After I responded to one of her discussions I requested her friendship.

Hmm sacmom (nice pic by the way ) why do you read the answers from other persons who didn't suffer from a point loss and believe them? You can clearly believe this person who lost her star and didn't earn any more. Please read instead the FAQ on the Topic of Discussion Rating System and you'll know that the rating is calculated into the earnings algorithm. Have a great time in myLot!

Hello there, stars doesn't do anything to your earnings, it represents your ratings/reputation here in mylot as a member. Happy posting.

Does it mean that if I don't have any star rating, mylot will give equal priority to me and the 10 star holders for anything. Like banning the discussions here?

Hello rainmark, is this true or not, did you read the FAQs of myLot which has a special topic on the Discussion Rating System (DRS)? There it's clearly stated that the rating/reputation of your star is included in the earnings algorithm! The lower the star, the more you should work (perhaps the impact is not that severe, but there is an impact). Have a great time in myLot!

star rating donot have any effect on your earnings so don't bother abt it but yeah it looks bad if u have ratings 1 or 2 but it looks immpressive if u have 9 or 10 on the star!!i personally give imp to star ratings because this tells us tht how people are reacting to our thinkings...it may be tht some people don't like ur thinking and some like...its interesting to see people reaction! but some people make wrong use of this rating feature n rate people without resons ...this makes me feel really sad as i always work hard to say such words which are pleasent to other mylotters... i hope there will be justice in ratings...gud luck happy mylotting!!

Democracy. this is the one word for star rating here on mylot. Don't you think that mylot admin must have some differnt ways for star. I mean if certain group of people are against you then they will do anything to make your rating down to 1 or 2?

No such things according to me. Since the star rating depends on rating from other myLot members and no myLot administrator. So your star rating do not need to reflect the real quality of your posts it is just shows proximate rate of your popularity here which could be influenced easily if somebody just don't like you.

Hello dieorfly, please read the FAQ about the Discussion Rating System, then you know it has an impact on your earnings, too. You rate positive or negative that gives a clear picture for myLot if the response/discussion is quality or not. So it has to be calculated into their earnings algorithm! Enjoy your time in myLot!
