i have been having strange dreams lately, but i will share one that i had last night. my dream: i was a college student at a college campus. i had been dating my caucasian boyfriend and we were very much involved. i am african american. he had a friend and his friend invited us to meet his family. they lived about 30 minutes away from the campus. so my boyfriend and i boarded a local bus to his friend's parents' house. i pay the fare but am short some change. so my boyfriend pays for my fare. next thing i know is we are going around a winding corner to a block of two houses. across the street is a storage complex. i walk over to introduce myself and notice white poodle on their fake grass. there is a white round wire table that sits two. they have a garden with daisies, pansies, and roses. it appears we met them at the back sliding door instead of their front door. my boyfriend's friend is tall he has a white shirt on with blue jeans. he has blue eyes and brown hair. he is also caucasian. his father comes out of the sliding door and when he realizes that my boyfriend and i are there to meet them, he tells us to leave and never come back. my boyfriend, who has been standing on the street the whole time, calls for me to come back. we run across the street to the storage complex, through a door, run up two flights of stairs and stop. i turn around to see if anyone followed us. no one did. we decide to make out in the end. does anyone want to decipher this dream?

I assume you indeed have a Caucasian boyfriend and are yourself African-American? If that is the case, have you ever met his parents before this dream? See, our dreams are a way for our brain to process our daytime experiences and emotions. You might be afraid that his parents won't or don't accept you. Or that just simple racial prejudice will eventually end the relationship with your boyfriend. Doesn't really have to come from his parents. You might at least have subconciously a problem with dating somebody outside your race mostly because of what people might think about you. Even if you don't currently date outside your race, the feelings may still apply and might have been triggered by a discussion with friends or something you have seen on TV. You might want to explore your feelings and opinions on this issue. But quite frankly, besides doing that I would not put much weight on this dream. After all, it's not real.
