Are you concerned about religious freedom? Are you concerned about the intense religious persecution that is happening in many places around the world? I think religious freedom should be the RIGHT of every single human being.
I have heard of severe religious persecution in many countries. Christians are among the MOST persecuted, worldwide. This often takes the form of arrest, severe beatings, not being allowed to work, torture.
If you are concerned also, there is a new initiative that will be voted on in the United Nations in the next few weeks. If passed, it can seriously limit or deny religious freedom, around the world. If you want more information, or want to help fight this, you can learn more at http://www.aclj.org

Never mind the rest of the world... Christians are already being persecuted and arrested here in the US... their crime is speaking out against the gay perversion and baby killing abortions.

Right! Everyone is allowed to have their opinion, except Christians.

If Christianity is really a religion of love, then Christians must love gays. If they don't love gays, then they are not Christians. And love means acceptance of the other as he/she is. Do Christians love gays in this way?

I am concerned about religious freedom around the world. I know of people who struggle simply because of their faith and I have friends in Egypt who are Christians and are marked with a cross on their wrists because of it. I am definitely going to look into that. Whatever happened to religious freedom this nation was founded on. If we can pass an initiative like that...the world would fall.

Many Christians have informed me that "getting persecuted" is a pleasure for them; thus, they share the tortures of their Lord and secure a place for themselves in heaven. Perhaps you belong to another denomination? Persecuted Christians also become saints and then their statues are placed in churches and prayers are said to them. A lot of miracles are also reported. I was under the impression that preaching the word of the Lord and being persecuted for their faith is a Christian pleasure. As far as I observe, this is how it happens: Christians preach their faith to a bunch of nonbelievers, the nonbelievers get pissed off, and this leads to unrest and violence and of course, "persecution." In other words, "preaching" and "persecution" go hand in hand. If you stop preaching, there is no persecution. But, preaching is your fundamental right, isn't it? You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Cheers and happy mylotting

Why did they hate Jesus if he did only good? Why should anybody "persecute" anybody for living their faith and doing no harm?

Preaching is our right, and should be everyone's right!
I would never say getting persecuted is a pleasure. If you are persecuted JUSTLY, then it would be an honor to suffer for honoring Christ. But it is not something you wish for or gain pleasure from!
No, it doesn't work the way you say. Some people are over zealous, especially if they have not learned much from the Bible yet, or have been mistaught. Also there are a LOT of people who call themselves Christians and they are NOT. I'm not Catholic. There is nothing in the Bible about getting a statue for being persecuted.
And we pray to NO ONE except Jesus, God. Now, Catholics, I think pray to saints asking them to intercede for them. I don't think that is Biblical, but I can't say for sure because I am not 100% sure of what they do or why.
Indeed, persecution comes whether you preach or not. Anyone who names the name of Jesus will have persecution or hardship. They don't have to preach. They do have to live a Christian life.
They hated Jesus and killed Him, and so they will hate us, and sometimes kill us too. But it's not at all what we want or are happy about. We will accept it, rather than give up our Lord.

I should clarify what I meant by "persecuted justly". I didn't mean there is persecution that is justified. I meant if a person is persecuted for practicing their religion, no matter what religion it is, and NOT because of something they have done wrong.
I am against religious persecution of any kind, whether it is towards Christianity, Buddhism, or any other religion.
