Night in or Night out and what do you do?

I prefer a night in if my girl is about, but as that doesn't happen so often any more a night out to a pub then bar then club is the best for me.
If I am in alone then I tend to just watch tv/go online which seems a bit of a waste to me.
So what does everyone else prefer?
