to see a friend or not?

i had this friend whom i havent seen for quite sometime now. for a couple of years, we didnt have any communication at all but thanks to this social websites, we now have communication. at first we became email buddies to chat buddies. we had this deal that if comes back, we'll see each other since we havent seen each other for 5 years already. and now that his back, our communication came to a halt. i dont have any news of him. so im wondering if i should see him or not. what do u suggest? should i met this friend of mine or not? cheers!
