This time of the year, are you renting movies that fit with the season?

Today is Halloween, and for the past week I've rented a few scary movies. Some of them aren't so much as scary, as suspenseful. I'm not into gore, so no Saw movies for me, lol. But I rented The Mist, which was adapted from a Stephen King novella. I've seen a lot of the usual scary movies like Psycho, Scream (my parents wouldn't let me see it, but I was a teen and that was my 'rebellion', whoop dee doo. I paid for it because it had a lot of gore, which as I said, I don't like.), Halloween (on TV only), The Sixth Sense, Signs... Like I said, some are more thriller than scary. I am getting One Missed Call today. Yeah, not exactly a classic, but I haven't seen it, and The Happening wasn't available. Also, if you want to see a pre-Tom Katie Holmes, I'd recommend Disturbing Behavior (with James Marsden), although not with any kids in the room. For Christmas I like to rent Christmas movies. I watch most of them on TV. It's crazy, but the old TV movie with Dolly Parton and Lee Majors is one of my favorites. It's called Smoky Mountain Christmas and although corny, is so joyful. I also love White Christmas with Bing Crosby, and yeah I can't forget the old standby It's a Wonderful Life. Do you rent movies with a holiday season in mind? Any scary movies you are going to watch tonight?

We watch smokey mountain Christmas every year and it never gets old for us. I am not into the gore movies either. I don't like Saw but i have watched it. Gory movies give me nightmares..lol I haven't seen the Happening yet but sister in law has it and I am waiting to borrow it from her since everyone else thought to borrow it as well.

Hey thanks I will be able to more enjoy it now knowing that I won't have to have my face covered with my hands waiting for gory stuff to happen.

I really enjoyed The Happening. And it wasn't gory even though it is R. I mean there is violence, but...And I'm pretty sure I only heard two curse words. Surprising for an R movie.

Definately, this last week in my house was horror movie crazy. My mom and I absolutely love horror movies, so we love halloween time on tv because the best movies are on. I practically had AMC channel on every waking moment that I was in my room. And definately, I love watching christmas movies during the holidays, christmas is one of my favorite holidays, I love it. There is so much warmth and love around. I definately have to watch A Christmas Story on TBS for 24 hours, I love it!

I watch the holiday movies on TCM. My favorite is Christmas in Connecticut. I love any holiday movie with a happy ending. My husband's idea of a holiday movie is Bruce Willis fighting the South African sounding bad guys. And usually on our women's channel there is a lovely Christmas movie, you know the kind, "girl from the city moves back home to the country and meets the guy who she knew form high school, but now she is divorced or a widow with either a son or a daughter who want to see mommy happy again. There is a kindly grandmother or grandfather type, they get engaged and have a wonderful Christmas."

I've only seen Disturbing Behavior. I'll be glad when The Happening gets available off the waiting list on Netflix, and I want to watch One Missed Call tonight. I didn't get to last night! : ( Do you have any scary movie recommendations to me?

Well, you asked for it so here goes...I like the classics like Chucky and Freddie (Nightmare on Elm Street Series), and Hannibal series. For suspense I like Stephen King's Salem's Lot and the Grudge 1 & 2. For make you think my all time favorite is The Skeleton Key...that one had me thinking for days. For blood and gore I found a series called After Dark Horrorfest...there's 8 movies in the series and I have 2. They are pretty gory so not for the faint of heart or stomach and you definately don't want to be eating while watching them. I hope this helps you out. I'm not a great one for slasher, gore Halloween type movies but will watch movies on a "theme" with Halloween...like Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus, Interview with the Vampire (heck if vampires looked liked Brad Pitt and Antonio Banderas I'd love to be bitten...heehe) Another good "pagan" type of movie to watch is The Mists of Avalon. Oh don't get me on about Christmas type movies...what would Christmas be like without A Christmas Carol, It's a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman...yikes the list is endless there. Nope I don't rent the movies..have them all either on VHS tapes or DVDs

My sister loves Practical Magic. I think she has seen it ten times. My mom can't go through Christmas without at least seeing A Charlie Brown Christmas once. I admit I like it too.

My girlfriend and I rented Rosemary's Baby and Vacancy (I think it's called) from Blockbuster on Halloween. Rosemary's Baby is one of my favorites. It's from the 1960's and directed by Roman Polanski.

Honestly, the clips I've seen from Rosemary's Baby freaked me out enough that I didn't want to see the whole thing. Movies from those days were really good and freaky!

Yeah, horror films from the 1960s and 1970s are way scary, that is why I like them! They're much scarier than the blood and guts/gore stuff made nowadays.

I do not do Halloween movies. I will be watching Christmas movies, pretty soon, but right now I just watch my computer screens. I am so wound up in wanting to earn online.

I have seen the mist its a good movie although I prefer other films of Stephen King such as Misery, Dolores Clairborne. I have read his novels and watched them as a movie too. I like thrillers and suspense, however I have been given Little Britain dvd a british comedy which i am looking forwards to watch. © ronaldinu 2008

I am not into horror movies and don't like them at all. I don't like to see things that are scary. So I stick to normal movies. I love halloween though and will be giving out candies tonight and I am looking forward to it. I love to see all the kids dressed up. I probably will have my TV off and just listen to some music as the kids are coming. I am excited about it. Alrighty then, talk to you later, your friend, chris

No I have not got any scary movies to watch for tonight, but all week I have been watching a ghost hunting programme called "Most Haunted" and it has been on live all week with them hunting for ghosts and doing various experiments. They also have webcams so that we can look for spooky happenings at home and so that is on tonight so I am watching that. It is very cool!

I don't rent movies. I prefer watching movie free of charge. There are many good movies in PPS, and PPS update their movies offten, you can find all kinds of movies there. action, comedy, horriable, romatic and so on, free of charge ... I don't watch horrible movies, and I also don't watch misery movies. That type of movie would make me feel not good. I like comedy and romantic movie most.
