Happy Halloween everyone! Here in our country halloween is not quite celebrated, its more of a western culture. However, some people try to adapt the celebration. And what a topic to bring about, GHOST. Is there such thing as ghost? And are their any good ghost or bad ghost? Are you afraid of ghost? Me, i never seen a ghost yet, and im not planning to. Well in movies, I do see a lot of ghost. Some are scary and some are good looking a cute like Casper. Im wondering if there's any scientific evidence about it, like paranormal. You can give me some insights by commenting on this discussion. Thanks

That's one of the reasons why I'm not part of a religion. I don't like to be told what I can or cannot believe. I like to decide for myself.

I am also a Christian just like you. So far the I do not have in-depth understanding yet about ghost and paranormal things that can happen. I do believe God gave us the power of knowledge and making a choice. Its up to us whether we want to know more. For me I do respect people with different views and perspective. I have several acquintances who are practicing harakrishana, goth beliefs and our differences does not make less of what we can do. I also listen to their stories and what they stand for in this issue, and so far I loved it because I get to understand them in some ways.

When I was growing up I saw and met many entities, therefore I believe in the existence of what is generally called as ghosts. Several of my friends had never seen any, wanted to meet them, but have been 'unlucky' up to now. One friend of mine, a medical doctor, did not believe in ghosts until he had several unexplained encounters.
As I understand it the meaning or understanding of the word 'ghost' varies from culture to culture. As myLot is a place of sharing, I will write about ghosts based on my cultural (Malay) and religious (Islam) backgrounds. So please do not make comments such as 'you are wrong'.
A ghost, according to Malay interpretation, is a being who likes to disturb others. They may be just naughty or evil. Generally they are genies since genies can transform into almost any shape or appearance they want to. Sometimes they come to us in the form of human beings with various intentions including misleading us about the spiritual world. This is the basic interpretation based on Malay culture/Islamic teachings.
The ghosts that I had seen were not cute like Casper. In one incident the entity, which looked like a hooded floating creature, held on to my bicycle for a few seconds.
Any scientific evidence? So far researches have recorded changes in temperature and electromagnetic field when something is close.
