I honestly feel that I live in a paradise. I am by the beloved ocean and only a few hours away from magical bushland. My life feels full of love and laughter and I have been blessed with a wonderful family.
Unfortunately there are times when I seem to forget all of this and wallow in the common pool of self pity. It is strange how we always seem to find the time to complain about the things in our life that makes us unhappy yet rarely do we stop and think of just how lucky we are to be alive.
So this is a post to discuss the happy in your little part of paradise

I live in northern, middle Tennessee, beautiful neighborhoods, great people and manicured lawns on the lake, and I too forget that I have a dashingly handsome, devoted husband, beautiful well balanced and motivated college aged daughter, artistic, athletic, handsome, funny, loving, talented son and 2 precious puppy dogs and a HOT car! I find myself (as we call it) wallerin' in self pity and teared up for some stupid reason that really doesn't make sense at all! Great post! I love the ocean!!!!

yes the ocean in magical. I pay her a visit every day, though really I just drive by but it is a long stretch of foreshore and time is always of the essence.
I like the way you say you have a HOT car! Your family sounds lovely and it seems you have a been blessed well. Let's all enjoy what we have while we can :)
I am glad you stopped by and welcome to mylot

What a refreshing change of pace! The world is full of so much negativity, and people too often focus on the negative. My life is full of positives. I have my wonderful family, my health, a warm home to live in, plenty of food to eat, and enough money to pay the bills.
I have recently decided to go back to work part time, which I was not thrilled about, but the good news is I have come to accept it and actually think I can look forward to the positives it will bring, such as more time for my husband and son to spend together, and some for me to spend among adults.
I also fall into the self- pity trap once in a while, but there are so many reasons to be happy that I am able to pull myself out of it.

I am glad to hear that your life is full of positives for you to find. I can understand what you mean about the part time work and you are certainly right about it being great father son bonding time.
All the best for the future and what ever it may hold for you all :)

Lucky you.
I'm very happy with where I live in the UK but I can't stretch the point to say it is a paradise. haha
A good family, good neighbours and good friends all make for a very happy existence.

Hi
Paradise is in our minds. Sometimes, even when we live in a beautiful place we never dare to think that we are in paradise.
I'm sure some of your neighbours don't feel like you. Because, you have been able to create your paradise in your mind. And successfully, you have connected your mind to nature. That's why it's a paradise.
Anyway, it's nice to know that you are living in paradise. My house is situated in a hilly area. I can enjoy the natural beauty and I have created my paradise here.

You are exactly right. Everything is in out minds and our minds are made by the decisions we choose.
I love the hills though there are not to many near me (guess you can't have everything hey?) I don't mind though as I like to bike ride so the flat ground is well suited to that!
I am glad to hear you have been able to create your own paradise, fairy wishes and butterfly kisses to you :)

Almost getting jealous, I'm not living in paradise, I'm living near a bigger city and there are stupid factories all over the place here, I do live nearby a small beach (300meter away), but even that is stuffed with garbage. But I think when I'm on holidays I can enjoy the beautiful nature more cause I'm not seeing it much where I live.
