some of my college friends had been shifting their courses from nursing to IT; from engineering to nursing; from IT to education. and most of them are already half way to finish the course they have started.
but most of my other friends are on dilemma, whether to shift of continue.
if your heart says, you need to stop and find your self.. would you follow it? would you waste everything you have been doing for years?
or you would prefer hope to love whatever you are now and whatever may happen then forget about anything else but continue on what you have already started?

I should say that I should follow my heart in choosing the career I want. It is because I have interest on it. A person has a chance to be more successful in life if she loves what she is doing. Any difficult subject can be lighter if she enjoys it while learning it.
On the other hand, I can say that it is case to case basis. There are persons who at first not want what they are studying but on the long run they begins to love it.
Choosing a course in college is quite a hard decision.Sometimes you have to consider also other factor like will it be affordable for your family who will send you to that university. We all know that education is so expensive in college and most of the time, if you not belong to the upper class in the society, you will just consider the practicality of the course.

indeed... it had been difficult for me to advice my friend. on my family it is always OK to return and start all over again as long as you know you are happy. but not all families can support or as supportive as mine.
i had always been given the choice either to change directions or not, and i always choose not to... i don’t know why but all the chances i had, i never quit on what i have started. I sometimes have the thought to quit but haven’t done it.
maybe the reason is i could adopt to what i do, to where i am and to new whole routines. thanks to that ability, i saved many, not people but effort, time and money.

its easy to say but there are so many reasons why a person is on a situation he/she does not like to be. but if he's already on the dilemma, what he should do?
if only you are on the situation, what would you do?
sometimes you will never realize what you have chosen until you experience it.
this happen often to teenagers, college kids... im lucky i could always adopt to any environment or task given.

I will not shift my course, if i'm already half way thru.. Because i dun wanna waste my time and money when it's gonna end soon anyway.. NO matter what, i will force myself to finish the course and graduate from there.. After which, if i'm still interested in my own course that i wanted, i will study in a private school instead..
At least, while studying for the course i really wanted, i already have a back up from the course which i have graduated, and i can use that to work, earn some money while i study.. It's a win win situation ^_^ hehe

I find that if my heart is telling me something it is very difficult not to listen to it. I think in the situation you are describing then I would stop and listen to it, after all this is a future in the balance really. I would not see it as being a waste to put the other to the side more of a case of realising what it was I wanted to do. I would want to do and go where I was fully happy and not stick with something that ultimately might make me miserable.

hi albern.
i understand what you are trying to say. in many cases it is better to continue than to waste money from starting all over again. and the chance to choose which course has to take should had been taken seriously. what course do you do anyway?

hi migenKC..Do u know what happened to me 2 years ago? I've studied spa resort management before and half way through, i felt so boring and felt that course is not what i want but when i told my parent, my parent said ok if you don't want to do it, don't do it then. and then i said..No i will do it anyway coz i think about the uni fees at that time.
Finally, i graduated last year and now i become a student again take bachelo of commerce (Accounting and Finance). The best way is finish it first what u doing now until u graduate and then u can choose another course.Because i believe, u will get something although you didn't like the course.

I actually did stop my course work a year before I would be finished and started on in English Literature. I wasn't happy in my first major and needed to be somewhere where I would be happy and would really apply myself to it. When I changed majors I was very happy and enjoyed my classes more.

a nightmare in itself, a hard decision to make in such a way.listining to your heart is important but ignoring your mind is something really very bad.make yourself clear if u r doing it for yourself or for your family or for your friends, all professions are good and prospects are good for every one but only those survive who really state their mind in there life.changing courses being in dilemma are like prefering taking sleeps in daytime and making future statements.go by your heart side it shows emotions and on your mind side it bring u yourself, prefer yourself as u creates and feels emotions via ur beautiful heart.good and healthy mind always speaks what ur heart is saying.........

Yes, I shifted from nursing to graphic design. I don't want to be stuck doing something I don't like, and there are lots of people who do that. It doesn't feel like work if you like what you're doing.
