If I don't want to claim the money I earn on here, can I donate it to charity of my choise? I know what I earn on here isn't much but if many people did that, we might be able to help someone who really needs the money.

nce the money lands in your PayPal account you can withdraw it to your personal checking account and then give it to any charity you choose. Since Christmas is coming around and PayPal is adding new vendors everyday, I would not be surprised if soon you will be able to transfer money from your PayPal account to certian charities.

Thank you for your comment. I would like to skip the paypal and donate it directly from myLot. They won't even let me use my paypal account on here and I'm not going to open that other account they accept only to transfer the money somewhere else. It should be a lot easier for myLot also if many people would chose to do this, they would only have to make one payment to each charity instead of hundreds of small payments to all the users.

IIm putting a Christmas care package together for less forunate and if you wish to join us here (for this is no scam) already some of the people here have gotten their collectors stamp in return. granbuddy was the first to donate to the Christmas Care package and alreday got the collectors stamp and smothing extra. I hope you will join us in the spirit of brotherly love and all we ask is for a donation of 2.00 to put this Christmas care package together,it will take many. But for those less forunate, it will make christmas a happy one. and in return I will mail you a collectors stamp in perfect condition which you can save as a later investment or you could start a hobbey and start collecting stamps. I just hope you will get into the spirit of trusting and helping and will donate 2.00 just send them to Ruth Segovia 1937 Presley st. apt. 2 Houston texas 77093 if your interested.in helping.. Thank you

Thank you for the information. I have already picked the charity I am going to support and I am also (hopefully with another member from here) helping a young mother from this site to buy a crib for her 18 month old daughter. I wish you all the best with your collection and hope that people in the US see this and help you out.
I'm in Iceland and if I sent you $2 it would probably cost you more to send that stamp to me :)

I did write them and ask them about it and they said they weren't planning on it but I'm sure if more members ask for it, they would at least give it some consideration.
If you send a message to myLot staff and encourage others to do it also, there's more chance that those of us who want to, can help others that way.

If you had read the question and the comments and replies on the other pages you would see that I can't get the money to my paypal account.

Thank you my friend! I hope some others have also written to them. I already wrote them a message a few days ago so I'm gonna give them a few more days to reply before I send another one. I don't want them to think I'm spamming lol.
Thank you to everyone who has responded to this discussion. I'm glad you think this is a good idea and I'm sure that together we could do great things to help others.
Now lets hope myLot reads this and our letters and make this an option for us.

I just noticed that myLot had actually replied to my message yesterday. I thought they would reply by email but the response was in my message area and you don't get notified when you receive messages there.
Unfortunately their answer was that they can not make it an option to donate directly from myLot to charity so now I have written to Paypal to find out why myLot insists that Paypal tells them it's not available in Iceland.
I know a lot of people don't believe that I would actually donate the money if I get it into my account so for those of you who doubt it, I will post a screenshot of the payment to a charity (Iceland I will need your help with that if my computer isn't fixed by then).
Thank you to all of you who replied to this discussion.

Just to keep you posted, I have sent an email to MyLot asking them to read this discussion. I hope they take it seriously.
Would be interesting to know if anyone else wrote to them. We don't want to spam them but I think if a few users write about it, it might grab their attention. They probably get thousands of messages every day and I don't envy them having to read them all.

myLot has replied to my message and said the were not thinking of making it an option to donate directly to charity but they are looking into why Paypal isn't available for Icelanders. It would cost twice the transfer fees if I have to get the money into my account first and then transfer it to a charity but at least it will be something.

I know I could do that if myLot would transfer the money to my paypal account but right now they are saying paypal isn't available in my country. Doing that would also mean paypal would charge twice for the transfer instead of only once if I could get it directly from here to the charity

What a great idea. I have never thought of that. Right now, my earnings will go straight to my paypal account. But I can withdraw that and write a check for any charity I choose! :) I already have a few in mind.

I know I'm free to do whatever I want with my money, what I need to know is if myLot would give us the option of doing this directly and if other users would be interested in this. MyLot would save a lot of time and money if many users used this option and it could even be profitable to them if there are considerable amounts being donated. Thy could get press coverage and a lot of goodwill.

Yes it would be great. Maybe if they mae this an option they would let users who don't reach the monthly limit of $10 to donate whatever they have or users could give a portion to charity. The reward for giving $10 to a charity is worth a lot more than $10 in your paypal account

You may do whatever pleases you with the money. Nevertheless, this is such a great idea! I am hoping more and more people here turns out to create dicussions as sensible as yours ;). What earn here may not be as much but if all these are summed up together, this could perhaps create a big difference!

That's a lovely idea for the people here who say they don't really need the money. I wish I could be so generous, but I'm saving my earnings to buy my husband a Christmas present that he won't know is coming. He is so snoopy that I am never able to surprise him. Maybe this time!

If you agree with me that this would be a nice option to have on here, maybe some of you could help me and write a few posts to myLot and ask them to put it up. I know many of you need the money but there are also a lot of people on here who have more than they need. Christmas is just around the corner and that is the time when most people give to charities.

A very generous thought and I agree with you entirely.
I am surprised that Mylot does not offer this as a payment option, particularly since as someone has already mentioned it would reduce the transfer fees for Mylot if they are using a Paypal business account.
It is an absurd situation for you to have difficuly trying to give to charity.

Great idea.
I really need it!
But your right, if people donated to charity, every little bit counts.
