I would not say I would be suspicious as there are still voters who have not made up their mind yet. Also more Republicans turn out to vote than Democrats. If more democrats turned out to vote there would always be a Democratic President elected.
News people are saying Mccain has a long shot on winning though.

No, i won't be suspicious if Sen. Obama don't win this election, the media is hyping that Sen. Obama is a shoe in to the presidency... no one else is predicting such an out come...i think that Sen. McCain will win because Sen. Obama is not leading in the polls in the "Deep South" most polls there are for Sen. McCain thats why i say it's alot of hype by the media that Sen. Obama is a sure thing to be our next president...only "Tuesday will tell"...

I'd sure like to see whatever polls you are noting! I haven't heard about those. All the polls I've seen show them about 3 points apart, with Obama in the lead. However with the chance for error and the people who haven't made up their minds, it could really be more like they are tied.
I won't be suspicious if McCain wins. I think the main polls show it can go either way.

I'm looking at Real Clear Politics polls they have a projection of Obama winning with 311 Electoral Votes...but when you look at the southern states all i see is three states supporting Obama and only by a slim margin...so you see how can anyone declare him the winner when it don't look good for him in the southern states.See for yourself at http://www.RealClearPolitics.com...

I don't think that I would be suspicious. But, I must say that if Obama one the popular vote and McCain won the electoral vote I would be very peed and suspicious. I think I would honestly never vote again.

How did you feel when John Kerry challenged the 167,000 votes in Ohio and claimed he should have won in Ohio? Had that happened you would have an over 1/2 the people voting for President Bush and John Kerry getting elected.
The Democrats like to have control with the Super Delegates which are the ones that put Senator Obama over the top. If they had a winner take all primaries like the Republicans we would be seeing a McCain Clinton battle now.

There are too many factors that can influence the election. The senior citizens tend to be democrats but will vote to protect their savings and income. This country has historically liked to have a check on the government and will vote a democratic congress and republican President. Senator Bidens comment about Senator Obama being tested may frighten some people and to change their vote. Others may see the gas prices dropping and the stock market rising as positive signs and vote for Senator McCain.
The other factor is this race is too close to call. All the polls are showing it to be within the margin of error which means it is tied. I do not think that when most people go to bed the election will be decided. It may even take another day to count the votes in some states because it will be that close. One poll had it 44 to 47 Obama. That means that there are 9% that can go either way.
Remember it is you right to vote so use that right and vote.

I would not be suspicious but I would be shocked. In a way I hate the fact that the media is already calling McCain a long shot. Some people who were going to vote for him may decide what's the point he is not going to win. When if they had bothered to show up he may have won.
On the flip side of that, some people that would have voted for Obama will think, hey he is going to win anyway, why waste my time in line waiting to voting. I have other things I could be doing. If enough people decide that it could cost him the election.
It just depends on how many people decide to vote and how many decide to stay home.
The media needs to stay out of saying who is going to win until the polls close and the numbers come in.
My advise go and vote for your candidate. No matter what the press says.

Absolutely not. I do not believe that the majority of the polls are accurate and they certainly would not sway my vote

I heard that in the race between Bush and Kerry, the EXIT POLLS -- asking people AFTER they had voted -- were showing Kerry WON by quite a bit, and yet he lost by a significant number.

i wouldnt because im pretty sure he is the one that the religious people are pushing (or should i say i cannot see if being obama) and if so they mail out a LOT of stuff to get people to vote the way they want them.. my parents are religious and were signed up to a few groups and they would get sent things telling them who to vote for and it would be full of lies about the opponent to scare them into voting their way.. and with the way people will follow religion blindly into the fire i could see him winning with that..
now that said i will say i would be surprise because the polls being how they are but anything is possible

On almost every single website I have visited, it seemed like McCain was highly favored. I was pretty sure that he would win. I have since realized that McCain supporters are just more vocal. The only thing you ever see from a McCain supporter is Obama-bashing and lie spreading. Most Obama supporters have more class. I suppose the Obama supporter that carved a B into a woman's face for being a McCain supporter was classless, oh wait....

You assume that all democrats would vote party line. That is not always the case.

Yes, but it wouldn't be surprising to me. I've heard of polls in the past changing votes, that's why I like to mail mine in. I don't really know if it's true or not, but it does seem like it can happen.
