Points Worth Noting

Clinton campaigned for Obama in FL yesterday. Did he do more harm than good? He said that he had NOT discussed with Obama about saying this beforehand and "hoped he doesn't get mad at me", but he "felt it should be noted." That is that when the news of the financial crisis broke, Obama was up late that night, CALLING everyone to ask what he should do. He called the Clintons, members of Congress, several economic advisers. I know that Clinton was trying to say that Obama is not afraid to seek advice when needed. However, he called a LOT of people, and apparently had no idea (according to Clinton, he said what should I do)what to do. Yet, Obama has been saying HE knows more about economics than McCain! McCain did say economics was not his strongest point, HOWEVER, McCain does know economics -- that's why he was able to warn Congress that we were heading for this exact financial crisis two years before it happened. McCain is humble and more willing to confess faults or weaknesses, even if they are not severe. Obama is not good at poking fun at himself, defensive, and not willing to admit his faults or weaknesses. And the economy IS indeed one of his weaknesses. Biden's warning people that Obama will be tested, probably with an attack on American soil, within 6 months of taking office, and that he will NEED us to stand strong with him because it will NOT BE IMMEDIATELY APPARENT THAT HE MAKES THE RIGHT DECISION was telling and scary. Now Obama has stated that the transition period must be handled VERY CAREFULLY, in order to prevent people's mood changing from optimistic to one of despair. What are these two planning? Obama has made other statements about the transition -- and they all taken together do make it sound like he is planning some radical change immediately.

I do believe that Obama is an eloquent speaker when his speech is prepared..........and that's the end of it. When it comes to decisions and what to do,.......I do think he is non-commital, and does not want to go out on a limb with the courage of his convictions. That is why he seeks others to tell him what's what. I think his picking Joe Biden for a running mate with his "30 years experience) was an attempt to have a seasoned politician by his side......but that might not have been such a great idea after all, as Joe Biden can't keep his foot out of his mouth.

McCain doesn't know economics--if he did, he wouldn't be pushing for the same type of policy that's clearly failed us the past eight years. There's a reason Republican economists favor Obama's economic policy 2 to 1.

Thanks for asking that redyellowblackdog! I was so aggravated with Clarus' impudence over my posting my daughter for Halloween in politics, that I forgot to ask for those references.

0nama hasn't got a cue as to what he is doing. He has never held a leadership position ANYWHERE, and is not a leader at all... he is merely a follower. Everything he has done has been part of a group effort, and has done nothing on his own. He talks a good game, but rhetoric is not leadership. When that phone rings at 3AM, his action will be to start calling for advice on how to handle the problem. This is what Bill Clinton is telling us, and the story he relates about the economic crisis proves this to be true.

Also, why wasn't it scary when Lieberman said pretty much exactly the same thing about the new President being tested? Psst, your bias is showing.

Pssst your ignorance of the English language is showing... Lieberman didn't say the same. He said McCain is the one we want in the hot seat with all this disturbance in the world and with knowing there will be more terrorist attacks or attempts -- I'm paraphrasing for you, since you clearly didn't understand the innuendo. Biden, said specifically that they will specifically test Obama. He went on to say that it will not be immediately apparent that Obama will make the right decision. WHAT??????!!!!!?!

"Lieberman didn't say the same. He said McCain is the one we want in the hot seat with all this disturbance in the world" Biden said Obama was more capable, having a "spine of steel". Lieberman said McCain was more capable, that he was "tested". Not seeing the difference yet. "and with knowing there will be more terrorist attacks or attempts" Lieberman said the new President "will be tested early". Biden said he'd be tested in the first six months. Oh yeah, COMPLETELY different. "I'm paraphrasing for you" Ha, don't bother. I've got the full clip right here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgrvdZbUgmg "Biden, said specifically that they will specifically test Obama." That's because he's confident that Obama will be the "next President" Lieberman was talking about in June. He didn't say or even imply that we wouldn't be tested if McCain won, and Lieberman made it clear that McCain would be tested if he won, too. See, this is why you choose to paraphrase--the real words are too damning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgrvdZbUgmg

I think we owe Bill Clinton a round of applause - he confirmed what a lot of people have been thinking - that Obama is not ready to be President.
