Nothing against Priceline though I don't think that I could ever pay for something that I'm not absolutely certain about what it is.
I travel quite a bit and I am fairly particular of which airlines I fly and what hotels I stay in so Priceline doesn't have a model that meets my needs.

I have only used it once. Bid as low as your are willing to pay, if it is too low they will let you know. However, be prepared to take some pretty funky flights (red eye, 7am, etc) and you may have to be flexible on your leave/return dates.
