first, i try to get basic information so i could prepare properly, like who will i be talkin to, is there a dress code, directions to the office, phone number so i can call back if i need to, company website;
second, i surf the internet for company information, how big it is, their products and services, recent news about them;
third, get ready for basic and potential questions based on information gathered;
fourth, prepare my outfit and go to bed early; and,
last, pray for a successful interview.

unsuccessful interview? so far i didn't have one.
if you mean unsuccessful job application? yes, i did, usually it's an unsuccessful negotiation. but i don't feel bad about it coz usually i end up landing on a better job or one that i like better. when i don't get a post, i just keep my optimism, tell myself it's not the job for me, and the best is yet to come! :)

I get very very drunk first. Then I brush my teeth and get dressed.

I don't do much to prepare for an interview. I just go over my posture and how I would answer some questions that may come up. And I just remind myself to be as confident as I can and to keep eye contact as much as possible.

nervous is very normal and so human :)
when i got an interview to be prepared usually i prepare answer of questions that probably will be asked to me and i got myself affirmation, i imagine that i've sat in that room, in front of the interviewer and i imagine that i meet him/her face to face with full confident and answer all his/her question brightly :)

Hi
The last interview I went for, I got a load of CD's that I played on the compter that shows how to handle Interviews.
I got them from my place of work, so not sure if you can get them from normal software shops.
But they were good!

Actually, I just had an interview this morning.
I am not sure I have any abnormal things I do before an interview. I will not smoke before one. I try not to put too much perfume or make-up on. Also, I usually stretch before leaving the house! I have no clue why I do that, but I just do it.

I like the stretch idea....kind of a refresher prior to getting suited & booted. Interviews can be tense on the muscles but the stretching sounds like it would help with overcoming that stressful moment. Great post! Thanks!

Nothing else special that you do? So do you do things differently if you are successful in landing the job?

I use music to put myself in a relaxed mind set.

Any particular type?...because although hip hop wouldn't be relaxing, I find that I can focus & concentrate better listening to it.

TRY TO BE YOURSELF.
BE HONEST.
DO NOT PRETEND TO BE SOMEONE.
DO NOT TRY TO GAIN SYMPATHY.
DO NOT GET TOO EXCIDED.
DO NOT GET LETHARGIC OR LAZY.
BE OPTIMISTIC AND ENTHUSIASTIC.
BE CANDID ABOUT WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW.

i dont prepare much for an interview, i just treat it as a simple daily conversation thats why im not so nervous and can pass an interview easily.

Are you ever stumped by the different types of interviews? What if the interview was simply Q&A....not exactly a conversation....how would you handle that?

I do nothing but get dressed and head out the door, because if I think about, I get too worked up. My best preparation for interviews is the past interviews, successful or failure.

Do you learn from some of the failures & do things differently the next go around?

I actually don't prepare for an interview. I just go and if they don't like me then they don't like me.

How often are you successful in landing the job as opposed to you actually preparing for the interview & not getting the job?

But it is always natural to be nervous during an interview so that you don't come across as arrogant or even over confident, right?

The word “interview” itself makes a person tense and nervous who needs to appear in the interview It is normal human behaviour to become confused or get tensed but such things can be overcome with practice, learning from seniors and elders, thru own experience At my time internet was not available These days Internet is a rich source of information U can learn many things about the interview by visiting the websites the links of which are given below On some websites u will find questions also along with answers which are frequently asked and questions pertaining to ur requirement can also be found there provided u surf on them thoroughly and consciously It will improve ur performance remarkably It will infuse a high level of confidence in u It will make u more frank and it will develop diplomatic qualities in u too Overall, I would say that it will give an impetus to ur personality development Ur specific requirement can also be met on these sites provided these are surfed well
