it made me smile when i noticed that my star drops to 85 reps now (i just noticed it before i made this) i think i was nurturing it (i hope i was) for sometime already and due to slow connection today, my reputation was displayed even i didn't hover my cursor on it.
really it's amazing how people get intimidated with just words that you post even without any icons. people just become crazy when someone disagree with their opinions and won't join their bandwagon. funny how strange they are.

why oh why sir rob?
No idea why, but is it true that when people gave you a negative rating your reputation goes down? or is it when you are not active posting?
It does not matter that much I know but seeing your reputation star goes down (or worse change color) it hurts right? and it sucks that you don't even know why

Was there, been there. I been enjoying and working hard to earn a blue star with a reputation of 97 for more than a week or so but one day it just became a falling star. It drops overnight to yellow with 85 reps then the nest day it fell further down. It was frustrating at that time but when I became aware that the system ain't that reliable since it is easily manipulated then I became stoic about it. I believe that it is not a critical gauge of your standing here. Receiving BR's, I believe is the best thing in showing your performance here.
Someone just playing a game with your star and constantly rating you negative and that's the reason why it drops. Being inactive doesn't have a place in your rating and reputation to drop.

Disagreeing is what makes a discussion interesting. If everyone agreed there would be nothing to discuss.

Hi sirrob,
that's the kind of irony i like. Some people think the other person gets crazy but instead he wants you to get crazy by posting an answer with a different opinion on the subject ;-)
Ok, some person are really like you said.
They have their opinion and anything else can't be accepted as truth. In the end their opinion should be the right one.
Otherwise it gets difficult for them and they have to apologize for being wrong :-)
Because of this they hope they could change your opinion to make their own opinion looking more correct ;-)
