Is Kobe trying to be 'Like Mike'?

Recently Kobe Bryant, LA Lakers NBA player, changed his jersey number to his old highschool after 6 years of wearing number 8. A lot of people have been comparing his deeds in the league & mannerism to Michael Jordan. Is Kobe trying to be 'Like Mike'?

nobody can be like mike anyone after him will always be imitaters of him.but kobe is awesome in his own rights so we cant take nothing away from him .they are just comparing to a great athelete and what better than to compare him with jordan.
