Today , I met a beggar when I walk around the school , and I gave him some money
because I think he is very poor . He wore shabby clothes , and appears very hungry .
I think I should give him a little help though I am not rich . What about you , if
you meet a beggar , will you give him/her some money or just ignore him/her ? Share
with us please !

there r some fake beggar n some r real. hmm..i give them sometime, depends on how much money do i have that time, but if i see a very poor beggar n they seems real for me, i will give them no matter if its the last money i have. i still can live but they struggle so hard just for a plate of foods. we should feel sorry for them.

Sometimes I will and there are times I will take that person someplace and buy them something to eat. I can not ignore someone who is hungry.

Hi remoteamber! That's really sweet of you to give him money. There are so many forms of begging in my country it's scary. Most of the time, I do not give them any money.
But I guess the most important thing I should say first is that I don't pity any of them, as my principle is to never pity anyone. Why? They are the ones who do not pick up their slack and try to look for jobs. They are the ones that are not sincere or honest in working. They would just like to laze and just not work to earn money and rather beg. I believe that you get what you deserve. I believe in the phrase, you reap what you sow.
Well, so in my country, there are quite a lot of syndicates that involves begging. There's people pretending to be people of religion and begging for coins.
Then there's also people that say that they are helping out an organization. They come full with pictures and receipt.
Also, this in the one where everyone actually will feel bad. I do feel bad when I hear it, I empathize with what their going through, but I'm sorry I can't pity. So this is the syndicate. People kidnapping children and cutting off their limbs or making them blind to be disabled so that people will give money to them, then they send the kids off to various streets to beg, then after the end of the day, they pick them up and then just take all the money, probably just giving minimal food to the kids.
There also siblings that come up to you and beg for money as well, which probably be in the above syndicate, however, I'm not sure.
There is also a story that in one of the states in my country, there is a beggar out in a temple that gets at least USD160 a day!! And he drives a mercedes. Everyday, he just dresses up as a beggar and begs!
Think about it.. If you keep on giving, are you supporting beggars?
I do hope that this post is not such a harsh view on beggars. It is just my opinion.

I give money to many of the beggars that I meet but not all. There are a few episodes that I will always remember, because I was touched by the beggar's gratitude and happiness when they received a few coins. Not all beggars are like that of course, many lie to you, follow you to get more money etc but whether I choose to give money to a beggar or not depends mostly on my intuition.

Yes, i will do the same! But lately, i choose those beggars i gave money and it also depends of the place where i am. Just like when we are in the beach last week, a lot of beggars are walking around and asking some money, but instead, i gave them foods.

I have before a lot of times and I've also given them food. I know that half of the homeless on the street are homeless because they have substance addiction problems and that perhaps giving money is contributing money, but I guess I'm naive in the sense that a big part of me always hopes that my kindess or the money I gave is the thing that makes that person want to turn his life around; one day I think it'll happen.

I can see many beggar in daily life meeting anywhere at public places. I do give money if I found them really helpless or handicap but I never give a single penny to those who act as beggar. Many people are born lazy in poor family and they take it as small business. Begging money to public place and they act like they have no money and all, I just hate them who are capable to do some work but run after being beggar.

If I had the money to give yes I would give them some money to buy food. I hardly ever carry money on me. If I had food I would give it to them. As for me taking them out to eat. I don't think so I am a female and I wouldn't do anything that would put my life in danger. I do not mind sharing but I have to share with precaution in my favor.

Well with me I dont have a lot of money or anything. We are struggling to pay rent and pay bills. We are behind on bills, so if I saw a begger I diffently would give the begger what I have left even if it was only 20.00 dollars, only because the way I see it even if I am behind on bills and rent I at least have a place to live and the begger dont so there for the little bit of money I have I would give it to them so they could get some gloves and a hat if possible along with a hot meal. I always belive in trying to help people.

I have both given money or food, and turned the other way. I used my instincts with these matters. If I truly felt the person needed help, I helped. If I truly felt the person was putting on a front, I didn't help. I have very little myself, and a family to care for too. I give what I can to help others when I really believe the help is needed. Unfortunately, there are people in this world that will take advantage of kind hearte people like myself, so I have learned to really follow my instincts when it comes down to helping or not.

Not to everyone.. Will see if he/she is physically challenged or really old and only then give.. Have seen many of them who just keep begging because they don't like to work. I hate such people. They also doze small kids make them sleep and beg under scorching sun. Very recently I read an article in the paper that a woman has built a house worth 5 lakhs and she was a begger. People who gave her money are still living in a rented house it seems.
Cheers

I am not gonna answer your question because you may think that I am not kind hearted. I would like to tell you a story: One time when my sister and I were shopping in a commercial street, there came a beggar, like say, they look really poor from appearance. When my sister was searching for dime, a man shout out: "don't give him money!" We were shock, we include my sister and I and people surround. The man said:"you give him money? his whole family, six person, all live by begging, they have apartments and cars, they are much richer than you now, their food is better than you, they consum and own luxuary items using your money!" The beggar was angry, but he didn't say anything and went away. I don't know whether what the man said was true or not, but I believe such type of person really exist!

For me , I would still give money or anything that I can spare to them because as a Christian, I can't let them suffer from what they are suffering now , If I am only rich I will make a charity to help them but I am just an ordinary person. They are still humans as we are sometimes we treat them as sort of fun, we sometimes bully them because they are dirty, stinky btu still they are humans as we are that needs to be treated equally and fairly enough in this world of rapid changes.
