Where were all the kids last night?

It was a beautiful night here in NY so I thought we would have tons of kids out trick or treating. I left a huge bowl of candy on the front step with a note for the kids to take 3 pieces each figuring it would be pretty empty by the time we got home. Off we went to take the girls out and we hardly passed any kids! I was so shocked. I thought maybe they were heading out later since it was a Friday night. We were gone nearly 1 1/2 hrs. When we got home the bowl was nearly full. I couldn't believe it! Where were all the kids last night? Was there a boycott on Halloween that I didn't know about? I talked to my mom and my sister, each who live in different towns, and they had the same experience. Did this happen to anyone else?

We don't really celebrate halloween here in Australia but last year i was surprised when a couple of kids came knocking and i was embarrassed because i didn't have anything so this year i bought some small packets of lollies ready for them and no one came so now i have all these lollies i am just going to have to eat...

That's the thing to do here- buy the type of candy you like so when you have some leftover you get to enjoy it yourself!
