Have you actually set-off a fire alarm before either by accident or on purpose?
I've never done it before but I'm always afraid that I might open a fire exit door by accident. Think about how embarassing and shameful that would be if I did that at a public place (hospital, shopping mall, school, etc.) :S What would you do if that happened? Who would you notify immediately so that they know it's a false alarm? Would you offer to pay the fee for having the firemen come to a false alarm? Or would you just run away asap so they don't know you did it?
My brother's friend accidently opened the fire exit at his secondary school. As soon as the alarm went off, the first thing that he did was try to close the door which wouldn't budge. The teacher came out of the nearest classroom, saw him and the door, and tried to close the door to no avail. After a student ran and got the principal, the principal came, took one look at that door, ...and tried to just close the door too lol. It wasn't until after they finally realised that the door wouldn't close (nor would it solve the problem even if it did) before they took other measures.
If you have any stories (either real or imagined scenarios), please share them!

The other month I went into our office and punched in the security code and nothing happened except that after a few seconds the alarm went off and all hell let loose.
It was after hours so the main reception was not attended to turn it off and the few people who were working late came out of their offices to see what was going on but they couldn't turn it off either.
Eventually the police arrived with the key holder and turned the alarm off. Peace at last!
It turned out that my son had changed the code without telling me.
It cost us £45 for a false alarm call out.
