What am I doing wrong?

My star has stopped dropping, so clearly I'm not doing my job of upsetting people and making new enemies. Damn. Have I sold out? Have I become (shudder) straight? Has my tongue lost it's edge? I need advice, please. Lash

Wow you have not managed to upset anyone for a while. Hmm maybe you have not been as active lately or you stayed out of religion and politics. Now if you want your star to drop then you could make a controversial topic there and it should plummet. Of course it could be that your friends are giving you pluses and so negating the minuses. Now that is a real possibility.

I am convinced some people get attacked right and left with religion and politics, others don't. I have never noticed that I get minused, even when I disagree with a discussion author. I have also seen a discussion about lettuce become controversial so.... it must be all in the way you express yourself and who reads it, not simply the topic.

Hmmm I have not been hit a great deal but I was a blue star until I got involved in religion and then it started to fall and lost about 6 points quite quickly. It has been stable for a while.

Is this a joke, Lash? LOL! To be honest, I have only ever rated down for a couple legitimate reasons, neither of which include doing it because someone ASKED me to, or doing it because someone disagreed with me. So, that said, if you both ask me and then disagree with me, it still won't cause me to do it

I don't know, but I am doing a good job! actually I went up a few points this week..darn! but I went from a 9 to a 6 in one day - I thought that was rather impressive!

Yeah. Yours was a great numbers, grandpa. I was 5, then 4, then 3, then now is 4 again. What a star. But I don't think hard on it. Let people do what they do. I just want to share, to start discussion, to comments, either they like or not. Hope that is not stopping you to keep on survive here.

I guess you might have just not been as active as you used to or started posting less, I'm sure if you start spending more time on mylot, your stars will go up. :)

As I have said before in another discussion, everyone has the right to their own opinion and rating them down just because you don't agree is just dumb. Ok you have the right to rate down, but to me it shows true immaturity. If you want to rate someone up be sure its a legit reason like you found their post enlightening or if you rate down it should be because they are a horrible spammer or telling people false information that could endanger them.
