Do you keep your old notes?

Every time I finish a semester, I keep all my printed and written notes and put them in a folder. I don't know but I put too much work on making them as neat as possible. I am trying to keep as much books as I could, too, just like a mini-library. How about the other students out there, do you keep your old notes and organize them even if you're done with those notes and papers?

Yes .Some times you want believe that if i told I have all my notes and books from my elementary school. In my early childhood my mom had done keeping them for me .But after from my O/L I keep them with myself. To my higher studies ,those early notes never become useful. But it gives me pleasure. Now even ,after each semester I put all my studies in to to a folder and keep a side.Though elementary school notes never help me in future ,I know my uni works will surely help me.I hope to show my all note to my future kids.

When I was in junior college my notes were given to my cousin as he was junior to me by only one class. There after getting into Veterinary College I used to keep my semister notes for next two subsequent semesters just thinking that I amy require them in future for reference and then I used to give away these notes tomy juniors.I was not particular about givin them toany particualr student, Who ever used to come to me first he/she used to get the chance to get my notes. I think by doing so I was utilising my notes in a proper way. I was very careful in preparing the notes. For that I used totake running class notes in rough and after coming home I used to fair them. This used to serve my purpose in two ways, one is I could get my fair notes in deatails without any mistakes and secondly while doing fair notes more than half of the topic used to be remembered by me then and there only. Thus I used toget well versed with the days lecture ! This used to take out my lot of burden during my examinantions as we were supose toappear for many examinations in one semester. I knew that these notes won't be of any use to me as I would require to have library of my own once I start my profession and becauseof this I used to give away my notes. Now having put more than 25 years of servicein my profession, I am having fairly good collection of my professional books and I can callit as a min Library. With the availability of internet now I have stopped addinfg further books to this library of mine as I am geting current information on net! Thanks frien, it wasa great discussion to have participated in !

Cool. You were doing such hard work, too. I used to rewrite my drafts too but sometimes due to lack of time, I only have 13 hours at home(7 hours unutilized, for sleep), my job to rewrite my notes stacks more. In the end some are rewritten some are not. Congratulations too on your job well done as a student.

I did same with you when I was a student. I keep them on different folders and put on my mini book shelves in my room. I believe that they are very useful even though you are no longer in a school. I know it will do a lot of help in the future. Just for example when I go to college, there are still some subjects there that I remember was taught on us when we were in high school. And then I look for my old high school notes to refresh a certain topic on a particular subject. Even though at this moment I am already a graduated student, I still look for my old notes and read it. I love jotting down notes while my teacher is discussing. Just at this moment that I will be going to face several job interviews, I look for my notes there where I jot down the tips on having a successful interview. I also teach same with my sister and other friends. The old notes and test papers are good references when you are at lost with certain information or subject.

oh yes. I forgot about the exam papers. I only keep those with fine grades. I don't know what is the use for reference of an exam paper if it is marked zero.

I only save those that I find important and that can be of future use. We dont have a big house where I could keep all of my notes and lectures as much as I wanted. NOw that I am in college, buying books is not that necessary, we could instead go to our library and photocopy some of the parts. Our professor is also into e-learning.

I sometimes keep my old notes. It depends on whether I think I'll take a similar class again. I haven't kept any of my old math notes because I don't plan to take another math class if I can help it. It is also too hard for me to understand some of my old math notes. I sometimes keep the syllabus for certain classes in case I transfer into another school. The syllabus could be useful in getting the new college to accept the credit from the old school. In general I don't really keep much of my notes though.

Usually I use to keep my notes till the result is announced and if I clear the subject I will give those notes to my juniors or any of my friends. Actually I will take my own notes rather than the faculty notes in the class. It will help you a lot during the exams

No, unless someone wants to buy them or use them. I really don't like to keep extra paper, and it is a lot of it. The knowledge you learned is something that you should keep with you, and if you didn't learn it well the first time, oh well then. Some people keep their notes around because they feel that they will go over them sometime later, but life goes on and you won't get a chance to.

I also sometimes keep the old notes in a folder if I feel they may be of use in the future. And yes it has helped sometimes,if had to look up a formula or something from old course.

I'm bad with this. I tend to keep all my old notes even from classes that I'm sure I'm never going to take anymore. I know that keeping notes from my other classes, as in the classes that I'm majoring in is a really good idea, but there isn't much of a point in keeping the notes from classes I'll never take again but I still do it anyway. I'm trying to recycle more of them though but it's still hard for me to give them up sometimes.

I also keep my old notes with me even if the semesters were over because you may never know if any your friends will require . I have stored all my computer related subjects books even now to prepare for my interviews after college.

Actually, I use "binders" (it's a sort of a huge notebook separated into division). Since I started college, I haven't use any notebook but my one and only binder so all notes are orderly put into it and I do not have to look for other notes that might be torn apart or misplaced. Books are very important to me, since I go into the same college as my younger cousin and we are in the same course so I really keep them so whenever my cousin needs the books, I could lend it to her right away.

Most of my old notes were thrown away.If I keep a few of them, just because I have no time to do that. They are of no use at all for me. School is over, and they should be gone with it.
