I remember when the wii came out,a store would sell 10 wiis the first day and after that day, it's gone. Why is the wii in such a high demand these days?I heard it can't play dvds and idk about it surfing youtube. The game I was actually interested was wii sports. Some stores even sell it for 600 dollars!Anyone with thoughts about this?

I have not heard of any console that can surf the site youtube. I know that some can play dvd's but the only console I can think of that doesn't need an attachable component to play dvd's is the play station. I am not sure why it is in high demand but I know that online you can find the console for cheaper and also in certain areas the console is cheaper then in others, I believe it's because of the demand of it as well as the population.

its because it is popular for families and kids. Every one enjoys playing on it you can browse the internet play online *some games only* but you get a great work out and its a blast to use. Try calling stores in advance to see when there getting in there next shipment. I did that a the Nintendo store and got mine one day when they called me back and told me they just got some in. btw don't pay 600 you can get one you just need to look

Me and my fiance do not own a Wii yet but we are planning on getting one sometime in the future because it is the gaming system my fiance wants, and a month or so ago we bought a Halo 3 Edition X-box 360 which was the system I wanted,my cousin has a Wii so me and my fiance got to play it when we were visiting her a while back and it is a lot of fun,and I think the reason it is in high demand is because it is different than most consoles, this one actually allows you to get more into the game, for example if you are bowling, you have to move the controller like you are actually bowling so the games are more interactive, and since the games actually get you up and moving they can help you get exercise while doing something fun,so that can help people stay in shape.

Welcome to myLot. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do. It;s great!!! I remember my daughter tried for ever than finally did manage to buy a wii. They really enjoy it and I have to say I like the bowling. Last week my daughter waited in a line up for the wii fit and she loves it. I guess it's just a novelty right now.

supply and demand. Theres always a demand for wii's so what nintendo does is send a few at a time to companies (bestbuy, gamecrazy, fredmeyers) knowing that they will sell quickly. when the stories run out the people will want more so nintendo will send a few more and so on and so forth this way they can keep the price of the wii up. if youve noticed microsoft dropped the price of the 360 because the demand for one was little and stores were crammed packed with them so they decieded to drop the price in hopes of getting people to buy some more. and like i said earlier nintendo only ships so manh at a time to prevent having to do this because there cheap and want as much money as possible.
