What do you make of the new Facebook?

I used to spend a fair amount of time on Facebook and really disliked the recent changes they made. As I spent a lot of time making my page look the way I wanted I was also very annoyed.
Apparently the main reason for the changes was to make it faste, however I haven't noticed it run any speedier. In fact it takes longer as you have more clicking to do onc you get onto a profile to write things or look at pictures. I think they should have left things the way they were.
What do you think? Do you spend less time on Facebook as a result? Did you tell Facebook what you thought of the changes?

I agree. I didn't really notice it at first but it is a little slower. Almost every aspect is slower, even the apps. It gets annoying at times because you feel like its your internet connection that's slow, but its the new look its self that slows down productivity. I think i will tell them to fix the lag problem.

Thank you for your response, nice to see someone else notice the lag. I was wondering if I was imagining it!

I don't like the new facebook. Like you, I don't like not being able to personalize the locations of installed applications. so, this makes the "wall" the only predominant thing I go to facebook for I suppose. I don't take much time to look at my friends applications or anything. I never joined any groups or discussions that were anti-new facebook though. And I still spend about the same time each day - I just deem it less amazing as when I first saw you could personalize it. The old look was much better.

I agree with you. I tend to avoid the "applications" anyway. I just use the wall. I still use Facebook a lot, it's good to keep in touch. So, it is okay, not great, but still useful. :)

I prefer the new look of Facebook. With the previous one, i couldn't follow my friends' activities, but now with all those tabs thata distinguish the activities (photos, live feed, posted items etc), i see somehow "more" activity of my friends and thus i enjoy "facebooking" (as i call it) more.

At first like you I was a little annoyed and for a while you had the oppotunity to change back to the old version so I often did that when I wanted to upload new pictures as I found the old method easier. However after a while I got used to it and find it just as easy to use. I think it's just that us humans are creatures of habit and we don't like change especially if we're not expecting it. Once I got the hang of the new layout I quite enjoy using it and the chat facility does make chatting to people a lot easier.

I agree with you.I don't like the new Facebook also.I do spend less time on Facebook as a result.I joined about 4-5 "Ban new Facebook" groups but nothing has really happened. One of my friends said that if about million join in the petition to stop the new Facebook, they will shift back to the old one,I don't know if its true though.
The new Facebook for me is not really fast,I think it takes about the same speed as before.
Many of my friends rarely go on Facebook now so I kinda reduced my visits to Facebook.
