How do you console your friends?

Friends are someone who can lean on, who will listens to your problems, your shoulder to cry on. Isn't hard for you as a friend to act strong and console your friend? How to become a friend to the one who needs it? How do you console them in times of need? Can you share your ideas?

Hi jho_anne,
When your friend need a should to cry on let them lean on yours and say nothing but be there for them no matter what, I have done that for my friends and one of them has call me in the early hours of the morning and I have gone to her to console her, that is all she needed for me to be there because she didn't want to be alone when she split up with her second husband, so I was there for her, so you don't need to say anything but just listen to your friend and be a tower of strenght to her.

It is interesting when one consols a friend. Ever think about how a man and women does it differently? Most times, women will just sit and listen and give feedback while men what to immediatly come up with solutions to the problem. The bad thing some when men and women are consoling each other. The man will try to solve the women's problem when all she needs is someone to listen. The women will listen to the man while he is looking for answers!
