I stumbled across this quiz http://www.blogthings.com/shouldyoubeallowedtovotequiz/ I thought it was interesting.
I took it, and I got this:
You Should Be Allowed to Vote
You got 11/15 questions correct.
Generally speaking, you're very well informed.
If you vote this election, you'll know exactly who (and what) you'll be voting for.
You're likely to have strong opinions, and you have the facts to back them up.
So go ahead if you dare.. take the quiz and report the results
Should you be allowed to vote?

Great quiz! I can never resist those things. I got 14/15 correct - the only one I missed was the nuclear weapons question. Even there, I second-guessed myself and would have been right if I had gone with my first answer. My 16 year old got 11 of 15, too, which makes me a happy mommy.

How do y'all know which ones you definitely missed? It didn't tell me anything but my score (12/15) -- I was looking for somewhere they had posted the correct answers?

You know I heard a man say the other day that a person should be required to take a test to get a license to vote to make sure that they have enough sense to actually vote. I thought that was about the dumbest thing that I had ever heard anyone say until I started watching people in some of these game rooms talk about why we should vote for this one or that one and it really made me go back and remember what that man said. I actually wonder if some of these people have any idea what is going on in this world. I have never seen such stupid reasons for voting for a person in my life. One woman told me so what if there are terroist connections, he is black and that is all that matters, I ask her if she thought he needed a bit more experience and she replied for what he will learn as he goes, sounded real smart and while he is learning and we are attacked again then I guess that will be lesson one. People need to research the facts and compare each candidate and to under stand what is happening and what one decission can do to the rest of our lives, maybe it would be a good idea for some to pass a test before they vote.

I got 10 out of 15 don't mean I'm smarter than anyone else just means that I know the every day things that are talked about on the news, I know I missed the one about who the prime minister of france is. Not interested until it is something that has to do with our dealing here in the usa and them, those are the kind I missed.

I agree! We takes tests on so many other important life-altering events... why not this one... oh that's right.. it would violate the constitution in some way.. I'm sure... sigh
Oh well.. let's just hope that a majority of the Americans are smart and pass this election test.

Your not american, just live here! But the decissions that are made by whoever is elected effects you as well as me. Thank God you can't vote so don't see where you should be making any remarks about the election any way, it is people like you who live here and want what america can give them, yet not interested in what is happening. I agree you should stay home and keep your mouth shut, just set back and reap all the rewards our country has to offer you, are you even suppose to be in the united state at all, or living here illegal like Obama's aunt. That unneccessary bullshyt has kept you from being blown up like in 911 again.

I scored 13 out of 15, but I couldn't find where to go to see what I got wrong, was a bit disappointed in that. People select a candidate for all kinds of reasons, some of them seeming beyond silly. But in this country, we each have a right to vote, regardless of how we came to the decision on who to cast our ballot for. Too many peoples' votes are influenced by gender, age, race, religion, media hype etc. Even people who are fairly well educated and informed. What really makes them any better than some one who votes based on the spouse of a candidate, or zodiac sign or whatever? How many more people would vote for McCain if they didn't know that he was 72. Or, how many more vote would Obama have if people didn't know he was of mixed race? In other words, how many of us can truely say that our votes are not influenced by information or feeling other than the issues?

I don't think there is any place on that site to see the correct answers.. but if you're not lazy, like me.. you can always find the answers on line.. I think I know which ones I got wrong so I won't be researching.
There are kids who are voting age in my daughters school who won't vote for McCain because "they don't like him because he is old" I wonder if they don't like their grandparents because they are old. I also heard someone saying they weren't going to vote for Obama because they didn't like how much gray he has accumulated since he started campaigning. THESE types are the people that need to stay home on Nov 4

Oh dear, I thought I'd score a little higher but I got 6/15 right. That makes me so ashamed! It said I should "maybe be aloud to vote"
I do however do a little research before I vote to make sure I know what I am voting on.
I saw on the TV they were holding up pictures and asking people different questions on the election and most people couldn't identify the vice president.

It was easy I got 15 0ut 0f 15. If you listen to the news and read a newspaper or news magaziner you should be able to answer those questions. When Howard Stern asked people why they were voting for Senator Obama and he told them that Senator Obama supported a certain policy and used a Senaotr McCain position they agreed. They supported Senator Obama's anti Abortion Poitition, his wanting to stay in Iraq until total victory and his selection of Gov. Sarah Palin as VP. Do we really want such a person deciding who will run our country?

Hooray, I got 13/15!
There are too many people who really know nothing about how our government works. I heard a man on the street interview where a couple people thought it was perfectly alright to give "each to his need from each according to his abilities", originated by Karl Marx. We all know how that turned out! People are really scary nowadays in their twisted, "me, me, ME!!!" thinking.

Hi dizz! I didn't do so well! I only got 6 out of 15!
They said I can vote, but I should study some more! lol!
It figures! I never did well in tests! I really am worried
now! I didn't know the answer to those questions, but I
think I know enough to choose which party I want to vote
for! I'm still going to vote as I had already decided!
So I'm not good at answering those questions. Now I'll
go sit in the corner for a little while and wonder what
the real answers actually were! At least they could have
told me so I would know!

What can i say Opal?? The test is rigged . I still trust your vote. After all most everyone votes on whomever they believe will serve our country for the better.

This is why I debate online. It forces me to actively participate and do research instead of passively listening to radio or watching spinning heads on TV.

13/15, so disappointed. Think I know which ones I missed though what a dummy. French President, went to fast through the question and who doesn't have nuclear arms (Germany or France), couldn't remember this one.
Ah well at least the quizz still thinks I should be able to vote.

You got 9/15 questions correct.
You're somewhat in the know, but you're not as informed as you think you are. ...
Wah i just guessed some of the questions. Good thing i'm not an American because of the studying that I still need to be able to vote in their country. ^____^ Talking about luck in taking this quiz. :)
